Important details

I’m sure those are important. I mean.. It would be kind of interesting if they did but no, I’m afraid they are slightly off track here.

What can I say – thanks for all of those votes last month and an awesome start in this one! If you don’t like guys in skirts, I’m sorry, there’ll be three more. There is a weird sadistic pleasure in those cosplays ლ(╹◡╹ლ) I want to finish the series and we’ve got 3 more characters to go! I’ll probably draw some First Steps episodes in the meantime, I feel like I’ve been neglecting those lately.

Life’s stressful lately as looking for a job is stressful. Both my bf and I are preparing for job interviews, checking what offers are available, building perfect resumes and agonizing over not being able to speak Japanese like natives. I’m pretty sure this whole ordeal will end well but you know how it is, looking for a job is never fun. One day you feel like you are unfit to do anything, putting your socks on included, the other you are frustrated they don’t hire for high enough positions right now. Meh. I hate the hassle, I’d rather draw comics and use my skill to code a game with Ada or somethings, way more fun.

Okay, enough complaining~ I hope you enjoy the page and check out the vote incentive if you haven’t done that over the weekend!

    Comic <3

How did Sofia end up part of this little get-together anyway?

… It'd be a lot simpler if it wasn't for the fact that both sides of this argument had good points.

      Ahem… SPOILER (?)
I went to check the cast page again and… well… makes me wonder………

      • NiWo21k Reply

Lets just say she has her eye in some way on Robert (she try to talk to him at some point but he first didnt didnt recognize her and wanted to apologize later)

      • Refugnic Reply

Aww, NiWo beat me to it.

They are right, Sofia’s there because Robert is there and she’s trying to get him to like her (despite the fact that he’s de facto with Ada, but they aren’t really officially dating, so it doesn’t really count as stealing someone elses boyfriend to her.)

Plus, they’re trying to do magic here.
If it was me and I caught even the slightest whiff of it, I’d be trying out too, even without having a crush on anyone in the inner circle.
Okay, I’d probably fail miserably cause I can’t draw worth jack, but who knows, right? 😛

        • thebombzen Reply

Eh, I don’t think Robert and Ada are “de facto” together. I saw them more as like the “BFFs” or the “Childhood friends” type without romance. I mean they might get together later but I don’t think they will actually

They must be cute as well, cute girls solve all the world’s hardships.
Also, good luck in your search. Be confident (but not cocky), I’m told they like that.

    • Refugnic Reply

If ‘cute girl’ was the only criteria, half the cast (including Sofia) would be able to do it.
Well, maybe not Nina, she’s less cute but more along the line of pretty.

Call me biased, but adults just aren’t ‘cute’.
Hmm…why do I suddenly imagine Lina Inverse from Slayers sitting in Ada’s shadow…

      • NotImportant Reply

Nina is actually younger than Ada 😀 But Ada is a special case hahaha

        • Refugnic Reply

Which is why I compared her with Lina Inverse.
By age, Lina is an adult…if only she looked the part. 😀

          • JW

From what I can find, in the first anime series she’s 15, and she ages about a year per sequel. So basically, she’s only an adult in the final two series.
On the other hand the correlation between age and looks in anime/manga seems rather loose (just look at Tsukuyomi Komoe from Toaru Majutsu no Index). I’d have easily given Lina a few years more without batting an eye.

          • JW

            Hmm, I gave https://how-old.net/ a shot (a guessing-age-from-the-face app from microsoft), but it can’t recognize anime-faces.
Not that I would have expected a very sensible answer from it if it could.

          • JW

You only need the right picture

            Yeah, something sufficiently realistic.

            Pretty impressive.

          • NotImportant

            I tried it on several pictures of my face and apparently glasses give me 33 more years! ; _ ;

          • JW

Maybe time for new glasses? 😛
Could also easily be a training bias in the neural network.

I tried it on Gollum and Dobby, and the ages varied immensely depending on what picture I used. (46,77,and often no face, and 11,22,34 respectively)
Sailor Bubba also often has no detectable face, and otherwise ranges from 39 to 54.

          • NotImportant

Nice, I didn’t know about the patters hahaha~ And the main issue with neural networks – not enough data. You work in machine learning or it’s an interest?

          • JW

The company I work for does things with machine learning, myself not as much as I’d like at the moment.
I had actually wanted to play around a bit today with autoencoders, but the server I wanted to do it on was missing some libraries and I don’t have sudo-rights on it (and since it’s a free day I can’t call on the sysadmins to fix it. I should have checked that last week).

          • NotImportant

My bf is currently revising the newest technologies for machine learning and neural networks, he wants to find a related job 😉 He’s been playing with Tensorflow and claimed that Google offers nice (and already set up) machines for rent (for free at the beginning, I think you can spend $300 without actually paying anything).

          • JW

I like Keras as a higher-level layer over tensorflow (or theano). Makes it real easy to set up a network in python. (But as with all frameworks its a compromise; common things are easier, but if you want something out the ordinary it can be a pain.)
My real problem with neural networks has always been that I like them better than I am at actually making them work well. Which is interesting, in a way, because I often don’t like things I’m not good at. Maybe I’m just hoping one day I’ll stumble on a neural network that’ll be good at making ones that do what I want 😛 Or, y’know, SkyNet and to hell with the world.

          • JW

Oh yeah, something funny that struck me this morning.
Two of the best optimizing methods for neural networks are called AdaGrad and Adam 😛

  3. NiWo21k Reply

Poor Ada, this is what you get for trying to be nice 😉
And please don`t leave your “magicbook” in the dirt, you may never know if you may need one of the “not so usefull” spells in the future…

    • Refugnic Reply

Well, she should be happy that she’s so indispensable to the team.
I for sure am. Okay, I’m just a programmer and not a magician, but sometimes it very much feels like the same thing, if ‘magic’ is the art of ‘making the (seemingly impossible) work. 😀

Okay, I’m exaggerating wildly here, but hey, leave me my fun. 😛

Regarding the ‘in the dirt’, it’s cool. The ground is dry and hard, so it’s unlikely that the book will get dirty or unreadable…well, unless Ada’s handwriting makes it illegible at some point that is. 😀

      • NiWo21k Reply

        I said nothing 🙂

And about the book: Everything can happen, and in the end we have the a little bit different problem then Ash with the Necronomicon – she may can pronounce it right, but reads it wrong – and who knows what will come out here – ok, the demons are already here, so maybe sparkling unicorns 😛

        • Refugnic Reply

Klaatu, Verratu, Turnschuh! Wait, that can’t be…OW! 😀

Yup, sparling unicorns might make for an interesting change…how was that?
As far as last thoughts go: ‘Unicorns are real!’ is among the better ones. (Insert picture with guy with a hole in his had here)

Now who ever claimed that Unicorns had to be kind and benevolent again?

          • NotImportant

I had once a nightmare about cities being overran by ponies (the pink ones, like from ‘my little pony’). It was terrifying.

          • NiWo21k

Its always the creatures that you dont expect that are crazy and evil …. or did i only see that in a Southpark Episode… (?) … i dont know anymore, i just keep my distance from everything friendly and fluffy looking – these plush toys in toy stores just creep me out, they are ready to take over the world….

Ehh, soory what was the topic again?

  4. Refugnic Reply

They forgot to add ‘with a temper’ and ‘good with Japanese blades’ in their job description.

Since NI is currently on the job hunt herself, I’ll just draw a parallel here and say it:
Often those job ads are completely unrealistic, at least the ones from the company I work for are.

Sometimes when you read them, you get the feeling they want the Swiss army knife.
An expert of the trade, who’s maybe 18 years old, has no family obligations and would work for free.
Is it the same for the jobs you are applying for, NI?

The trick is, or so I am told, to make them believe that you are the closest thing to said Swiss army knife they’re ever going to see.
Maybe it’s different in Japan, maybe they have realistic demands there, but either way I’m sure you’ll be fine.
In either case, I’ll take a leap and say that your entire following here is rooting for you. 😀

And if you ever get around to making that game with Ada, please be sure to let me know if I can help.
I can’t draw and I don’t have any experience in making games, but I learn quickly and don’t give up easily. 😉

    • NiWo21k Reply

Sometimes i think the people who are responsible for hiring people for jobs are idiots. Like you said, they search for someone who has at least studied for 4 years or more, did the job already for more then 5-10 years, has at best only fantastic school grades and is only 18 years old.
And if you cant get such a fantasy figure, the next one with the best grades becomes the job (normaly someone who only is good in memorizing but nothing more – these are the people who think they know everything better as someone who is doing these jobs his whole life, and even get better paid. its just a joke….

So yeah, what you said about telling them how near you are to the perfect thing is in so many ways true….

But i think we should cross our fingers and root for NI – she will find something 🙂

      • Refugnic Reply

They want the best they can get.
If they put out job ads that ask for a realistic position, these ‘best’ might not bother to apply…or much rather the ‘not the best drabble’ will apply, hoping to get a good job.

I think part of these over exaggerated job descriptions is to scare away those who don’t have the confidence to rise to the challenge.
Regarding the grades…sad, but mostly true.
Some people who would actually be fantastic at the job don’t even get invited to the job interview, because their school grades (non vitae sed scholae discimus, am I right?) aren’t ‘up to par’.

Good to know that it’s the same for you though…school is all about memorizing information for a limited amount of time, use that information to pass some sort of test and then throw the information out again to make room for new information.
        Repeat ad infinitum.

To truly understand a matter, especially if it is a more complex one, it would take a lot more effort from the teachers and also from the pupils, but that’s not what school is geared towards. It’s geared towards ‘make the children have heard of as many things as somehow possible without having understood the first thing about any of them’.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, school is supposed to prepare children for life? Then school should find out what the child is good at and teach them the skills necessary to build on that.
But oh no, that would require each pupil to be treated individually instead of like cattle! They can’t possibly do that!

        *Ahem*, sorry, sore topic.

        I’m sure she will.
After all, from what I know, she has all it takes to make it.
Maybe not to the top ranking management, but personally, if it was me, I wouldn’t even want that.
I’m happiest at the ground level, with my hands on the code and nowhere else.

It’s not all about the money after all. 🙂

It’s about getting a job that is satisfying! I doubt I’ll find one like that, I’m happiest working on my own stuff, I’ve had a job to pay my bills, only ;/ I envy people who can treat job like an extension of their hobbies sighh…

Thanks for the wishes guys <3 I sure hope you won't change your attitudes when I stop updating Replay because of the new job hahaha haha... ha... To be honest Japanese contracts are pretty scary.

          • NiWo21k

Hey i thought Replay was you main job and you were checking for a side job…. pffff then i have to think about it…..
Nah joke aside, it wont change anything – i think as long as you are happy, we are happy (that sounded so cliche) 🙂

          • Klorix Camp dweller

A hiatus would absolutely be ok if you need to get started with a new job. It’s indeed sad that most people cannot turn their hobbies into their job – and still like it, because that’s just as important. But one need’s to have some priorities, and paying bills is one of them.

Plus, we know that your painting makes you happy, and a happy artist (who can afford to be one) is what we want. So I’m pretty sure you would come back once you have the time again. 🙂

        • JW Reply

I think part of these over exaggerated job descriptions is to scare away those who don’t have the confidence to rise to the challenge.

Rather unfortunate that research shows there is no correlation between confidence and ability. Competent people know their limitations and so temper their confidence, incompetent people don’t so overinflate theirs.

school is all about memorizing information for a limited amount of time

I’m glad my school wasn’t like that, they taught me how to apply knowledge, rather than just memorize it.
Knowledge is easy enough to look up, so there’s not terribly useful to memorizing a lot of it, other than what you need frequently (not that people generally bother to look it up anyway). But applying it, that’s another matter. Problem-solving ability generalizes, so it’s much more useful to learn. Probably the most important things they should teach in school (but don’t) is about cognitive biases and how to mitigate their effect (or use them in others, if you want to get Machiavellian).

But oh no, that would require each pupil to be treated individually instead of like cattle! They can’t possibly do that!

Not as long as society isn’t willing to A) give them the room to do so, and B) invest the money it would take.
I don’t know any teacher that wouldn’t love this (and I do know a few, otherwise it would be trivially true), but politicians and society at large don’t care. Which is stupid and shortsighted, but that’s people for ya.

I’m happiest at the ground level, with my hands on the code and nowhere else.

Yeah. And with a sane middle-management keeping upper-management away from you so you can get on with your job. (Not really a problem in my current job, but in my previous one, my god.)

          • NiWo21k

            — school is all about memorizing information for a limited amount of time
I’m glad my school wasn’t like that, they taught me how to apply knowledge, rather than just memorize it. —-

I think its a combination what the school teaches you and how the teachers try to communicate it. I had teachers they just showed they had no interested beeing there and just started with “books out i will dictate you now everything you need to know” and then for the next 45 minutes just dictated us a 4-5 pages long text and this for 3-4 weeks before they said “and now learn this for the test”. You maybe recall everything if you have memorized it but later on i doubt you can use it practical.

On the other hand i had teachers they just straight said, whats in the books wont be needed in the future and they tried to teach us things that are usefull.

            — I’m happiest at the ground level, with my hands on the code and nowhere else. —-

This is something i definitiv can agree with. I have a job where i a nearly working alone all the time because my company is nearly 500 km away and dont have to deal with everything that goes wrong, or a tleast i am the last one that will know whats going on. But from my last job where i had so many run ins with the higher ups i know how this feels.

An example I like to point out of characters not looking their age in anime is Taboo Tattoo. The MC and his GF were supposed to be in middle school. They looked at least High school age if not young adults.

I said this before, but red hair, freckles and a tendency to disobey rules and traditions are common attributes connected to witches…

I’m feeling conflicted about that second panel. On the one hand, Ada’s “grrr” face is *very* pretty, but on the other hand if she’s making a “grrr” face she is not a happy fox. I don’t want her to be upset!

On the topic of the boys in skirts series of vote incentives, I’m fine with them continuing for a while. While boys are not my type, skirted or otherwise, I feel the portion of Replay’s fanbase that *do* like boys are also deserving of well-drawn vote incentives.

    • NotImportant Reply

I wonder if there people rooting for boys, hm… But maybe? I guess I am personally just enjoying tormenting the cast with the absurd ideas you guys throw at me. Whose idea this was, JW’s? I no longer even remember lol

And don’t worry, she’ll get back to being happy soon enough!

      • JW Reply

Yeah, I think it developed out of the idea I had for Ada giving Robert another spell to try, which would have transformed him into a magical girl. ( https://replaycomic.com/comic/origin-of-magic/#comment-76836 ) I can’t really take credit for the idea of doing the whole male cast as characters from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, though. Only for planting the seed without knowing what wondrous things would grow from it 😛

  7. Klorix Camp dweller Reply

So, just a few first thoughts before reading any further comments than NI’s intro.

I like the face to face confrontation you did.

Sofia has a point. Though I never thought that she of all would step up to stop their fight.

Kasper has cooled down fairly quickly, but making this kind of dumb jokes might be a tad dangerous for him at this specific moment.
Robert should be ok… I think.

  8. Tzaphqiel Reply

That sort of joke was a bit unexpected from Kasper, considering both his training/experience and his self-appointment to de-facto camp leader after all other superior officers were slaughtered. I’d almost suggest it was his way of saying he liked women with freckles if that didn’t even seem even more out of character.

On a slightly related note, these last two pages have made me realize just how buff Kasper is. It shouldn’t be surprising at all, but I never really thought about that until now.

    • NotImportant Reply

He was in a jacket previously and I admit I paid less attention to the different body-types since I struggled enough with the faces hah~ So from now on I’ll try to emphasize them a little bit.

And to @Tzaphqiel and @Klorix, since you both made a similar point – Kasper is trying to be a leader in this newly established camp. Since there are not many people here and his authority is dubious he has a good chance of taking them under his buffy wings by making friends and being useful. So he’ll throw a joke at times, pat a back and generally try his best to keep the moods relatively high. For him, this is a calculated behavior. Robert does things like that a lot too, although for different reasons ๏◡๏ Sofia is trying her best as well, although she started to even stutter. But I do realize you guys can’t yet notice if something is a character trait or a forced reaction.

      • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

        Don’t worry 🙂

I understand that Kasper tries to be a good leader and just wants to gain the confidence of the others by not being authoritarian.
Concerning Sofia, I was surprised, but didn’t consider her that much out of character. People tend to be more confident among friends. And in this world, four days around friendly people is close enough. She’s even become kind of part of the inner circle as Refugnic put it.

      • Tzaphqiel Reply

I kind of figured that he’d be trying his best to look and act like someone that people would follow. And you definitely pulled off that look with him remaining fairly level-headed compared to Ada, considering that good leaders generally do their best to not fly into a blind rage even when they desperately want to.
I was just surprised because he seemed like the calm-and-collected, lifetime-in-the-military type that generally doesn’t make many jokes.

      • NotImportant Reply

It’s not like I’m worried, you’d figure it out after the next page, most likely haha~ Just wanted to give you another angle. And Kasper is only 27, there is no room for a lifetime in military there ;D

        • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

But it looks like level-mindedness runs in their family. Just look at Laura (though she might be relying on her big brother as a backup sometimes).

pssst NI to part 2 – this is not the way to keep new readers – thats the way to scare them away 😉

      • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

And sometimes it is important for a story that some character dies. Actually, someone important did already die, not from the main cast, though. I am curious to see how that event will affect the rest of the cast in the long run.

        • NiWo21k Reply

I think the problem today is that in most of the stories there are too many character deaths and most of them dont have the impact that they should have. The last two great deaths i saw because they had not only an impact on the characters but also on the readers where here in Replay and the other one in FaLLEN (in this case it was a very heavy one and the author had to write some apologies for doing it – i personaly was shocked because it was one of my favorite characters, but at the end i knew why it had to be done, and i am looking forward how it will continue from this point).

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Indeed, the deaths of characters in a story have become much more common, but it can still be a useful tool. And that’s the point. If a main or important side character dies, it needs to be meaningful. Especially if it’s a character the audience has grown fond of.

The demons in Replay have killed a lot of people, establishing the fact that they are killing machines. But those were nameless people otherwise not relevant to the story.

In this specific case, I don’t think that most of the cast were close to Renate, except Stefen who definitely was shocked by her death. And it probably had a much stronger impact on him, which we might discover later on in the story.

          • NotImportant

Yes, I had to kill her :C Meaningless deaths just annoy the audience.

          • NiWo21k

The biggest problem i have with deaths today is, that most of them are more shocking in a “how they died” way and sadly not what this means for the story. Sometimes i have the feeling many authors took their ideas from “A Song of Ice and Fire” or many, many anime (in this case i have only seen a handfull i really thought they were done fantastic – ok i know how this sounds)

I think we will see what kind of impact this death had in Stefen (i think they had some sort of connection – just thinking of the one picture we saw).

          • Klorix Camp dweller

They definitely had a connection. And I’m worried as to how Stefen will be affected. Will he care at all? Will he become obsessed with the demon’s symbols/language?

          • NiWo21k

I think he will care, but to be honest, i think he will react in a way we dont expect. Think back at the situation just before Nina found him. I had the feeling he was near of giving up and try to die. After seeing that there are survivors i can imagine that he will try to protect them with everything he got and stop joking around that much.

So i think you arent that wrong with the idea, that he becomes obsessed with this, but i dont think in a way that it will be his undoing in some way….

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Oh, I think there might be a misunderstanding. I meant will he care for the future or anything?

Concerning Stefen helping the survivors, he does not seem to have told them about his magic amulet. And thinking of it, it would be a perfect tool for Robert to get into the city with greatly reduced risk while the camp would still benefit of Ada’s protection.

          • NiWo21k

Good question… Its possible, but maybe more in the way, that he want to change something but more in the way that he thinks he cant rely on someone and tries it his own way.

And about the amulet: We know nearly nothing about it at the moment. Where did he got it and can everyone uses it? I mean we have seen that not everyone can use magic, so maybe this could also be a case with specific magic objects. I know what you are thinking: If thats the case why can Robert uses the Katanas? My theorie is, that maybe not only the items have to have a magical spell on them but also it has to be connected to its user – Think back to this page https://replaycomic.com/comic/harmony/ – both had a vision, but nobody else had some (at least we know of) but then lets go a little bit further onto this page https://replaycomic.com/comic/the-swords/ were Stefen only touched the swords an got an he sensed that they have some kind of magic aura around them. Ok we dont know if someone else has touched it to this point, but i think after what happend before, i could think that the “soldiers” might tried to take them away for security reasons. So in short maybe Robert couldnt use it?

Or this could all be just my imagination going wild again 😛 Only NotImportant knowas whats going on, so we have to trust her that there will be some kind of explanation in the future.

      • NiWo21k Reply

I think they arent official together but cant live without each other – We know that they know each other for quite some time (the part when Ada had her vision when they trained together at her house) and also the part when Robert tried to apologize to Sofia and left Ada and she was kinda distracted from this point until he came back.

        • NotImportant Reply

It’s the mystery plot of this story lol Are they together? Or not really? Do they themselves know the answer….?

          • NiWo21k

I just image somewhere in the future – when you end the end the story – the last sentence would be “Are you two together?” and end 😀 – You would be so devilish to not answer the question and let it be to interpretation 😉

          • NiWo21k

I think i had a dream where i read a manuscript, didnt know that this was yours – please dont kill me, i am not responsible for my dreams…. please call of the hitman that sneaking around my house….

          • NotImportant

Hmmm fine, I’ll let you live a little longer~!

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Yes, who really cares for the demons? We just need them to put some pressure on Ada and Robert so they finally make up their mind. This is NOT about the apocalypse after all, it’s a love story!

I’ll have to stock some more tissues, because once they get throught their hardships and finally get together, I’ll need them. I’ve become so sensitive over the past couple of years…

On a more “serious” note. It sometimes is difficult to find out one’s own feelings. And even when you love someone that doesn’t mean you cannot feel attracted to somebody else. (That’s not a fun situation to be in, btw.)

I don’t think Robert feels that way towards Sofia, though. Poor girl, this is not fun either. Let’s hope this is just a big crush and the fact that she finally found someone she knows. I think Robert is kind of an anchor for her at the moment that helps her find her bearings. Let’s hope she will find someone to reciprocate her feelings.

But I’m really dying to know what thing Ada and Robert have. Plus I’m really bad at finding this out in other people.

          • NiWo21k

@NI: Thank you, i will try to forget everything i saw, i swear *hits his head on a table*

@Klorix – Plus I’m really bad at finding this out in other people.-
I think you have this in common with these two, because at the moment i dont think they can read each other either, and i mean their own feelings and the signs of their other half – i think these two are just living too long with each other without seeing the obvious things 😉

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Phew, we are in luck then. What would a love story be like if the protagonists knew they were in love? 😉

          • NiWo21k

I dont know, and to be honest, i am not sure if this is something i would like to know 😛

          • JW

What would a love story be like if the protagonists knew they were in love?

Knowing you’re in love and coming to grips with it are still two very different things.
I think “Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun” took that approach; with the male protagonist being very upfront he’s in love, and the tsundere realizing she is as well by episode two or three, but deciding she has better things to do than follow her feelings. I really liked the novelty.
Admitting you have a problem are in love is only the first step, dealing with it is step 2 and a whole new story in itself.

          • NotImportant

            I was so upset about the whole Yamaguchi plot! I so wanted her to change her mind and stick with him instead ; _ ;

          • NiWo21k

So a shampoo that not only lets you smell sweet as a donut as one but also gives your hair you the shine of the glace on them? Could it be we have found a new niche – quick someone patent this 😛

          • NotImportant

No worries, all interested will surely find your comment haha ;D

Random thought as I re-read Sofias last line: Dying their hair would be tedious for some of the cast if they have not only long hair but also a bushy tail like Ada and Nina.

I wonder if they had special shampoo for their tails too.

    • NiWo21k Reply

-I wonder if they had special shampoo for their tails too.-

I always think back to my favorite character who always takes care of her tail in so many ways. So i think here its the same – i can imagine when we come into the city we will see something like that – i think NI will come with something up 😉

      • NotImportant Reply

I’m not sure, honestly speaking I don’t care about the tails and ears beyond the point of making hats, helmets and glasses kind of work… xD

        • NiWo21k Reply

So the joke would be there is no joke because you would let one obvious joke slide because you dont think about it – brilliant 😀

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Yes, the joke would be that there is no joke, because this is natural for them and not even worth the bother of painting it.

        • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

Hehe. “I don’t care about the tails and ears beyondthe point of making hats, helmets and glasses kind of work” … and making the characters look (super) cute 😉

We know that they do wash themselves. I’ll happily assume they also care for their tails (someone has to) and that there are, or rather were, special products to make tail fur all fluffy and lustrous ;p

Just have a look at all the stuff we have and that’s without tails.

          • NiWo21k

Imagine just how the ads would look like – i mean why not having a grumpy looking Ada in a witch costume holding up a bottle of some care shampoo for tails – you cant get better advertising than that 😛

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Yeah, or pouring some hopefully not too icky stuff from a magically glowing cauldron into a shampoo bottle. But we still need a good slogan.

          • JW

“Ada-brand shampoo, because real poo would just make it dirtier”

Oh, wait, you said a good slogan, nervermind.

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Read it. Did stuff. Re-read it.
            Still makes me laugh 😉

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Ok, enough fun for now. This is business after all!
            Here’s my suggestion:

            Adacadabra
            Volumagic Fur Shampoo

Your tail care is not NotImportant to you!

          • NotImportant

          • NotImportant

@antrik so evil! Here I am, bearing my heart open, and you just think about how to use it! How can you do this to me!!! xD

          • antrik

What? I’m totally innocent… (Where did I put that damn halo?! Ah, there it is!) See? O:-)

          • JW

“Volumagic Fur Shampoo” sound great as a product name. (I also see there’s actual hair products with volumagic in the name.) Not sure about “Adacadabra” as brand name though.
What about Adagirl and Adaboy for the women’s and men’s selection. (Sounds like “attagirl” and “attaboy”, which are expressions of encouragement.)

And as a slogan “You won’t be able to keep the fanboys[/fangirls] off your tail.”

          • Klorix Camp dweller

I also see there’s actual hair products with volumagic in the name
            – And there I thought I had been all creative.

I like the Adagirl/boy thing. Good idea to make an extra men’s brand ($‿$)
Slogan should be ok too. (Reminds me a little bit of that Axe commercial. 😉 )

We should think about having another face on the Adaboy brand though. How about Adam? The name fits, and he did do magic, didn’t he. Also: bad boy appeal.

          • NotImportant

Guys, if you actually make that shampoo line I want some % 😀

          • NiWo21k

            @NI
-If you even go away it will break my heart ๏◡๏-

I think there has to happen a lot bevor some of us will disappear into the darker corners they came from 😀 – so dont worry 😉
And its always good to hear that we can brighten up your day 🙂

          • JW

I wonder if you can make shampoo with donuts as an additive. I mean, you have them with yogurt, eggs, almonds, nuts, berries, fruit, and other foodstuffs, so why not donuts?

            Huh..
There actually already exists jelly donut shampoo…

            This world is crazy.

          • JW

I should perhaps add that shampoo only has donut fragrance, not actually added donut. But still.

          • NotImportant

I’m not sure what the donut fragnance is… Sugary?

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Dunno, but freshly baked pastries do smell gooood.

          • Klorix Camp dweller

            Donut, that’s the special adative…

            (Sorry y’all, couldn’t stop myself.)

          • JW

Ah, I think I figured out why Ada’s magic works, but not the others’. It’s because she follows Yoda’s teaching of “Do or donut, there is no try!”

Announcement for my lovely Patreon patrons (and whose who feel like joining us there) – I’ve just posted 2 new episodes of First Steps, that silly side-story about Ada and Robert’s humble beginnings. Both episodes will be available as vote incentives soon (and the whole story added to the site when it’s finished). Enjoy! (‘∀’●)♡

You need a big red button on the top of your page that lights up when you post something new 😀
And i am already loving them, cant wait how this will turn out 😀

    • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

Can’t wait to read the whole story.
*looksatcalendar* Oh well… might become a nice winter season present 🙂

Isnt it always good to have something to look forward to – even better if its something like this 🙂

        • antrik Reply

Well, yes and no… To be honest, it’s a bit frustrating to see people discuss these things, while us mortals won’t know what it’s about for months to come…

  14. Klorix Camp dweller Reply

So, wanted to ad that I (just) noticed Ada’s pentacle is not glowing any longer. Did they break the circle or is that some lighting effect.

Speaking of which: it is very well made! I like the spots of light and the shadows, they look very realistic to me. And it looks like such a nive warm day that’s just perfect to be spending in the forest!

    • NotImportant Reply

AH I guess it should be… My bad D: We might assume she broke the circle but I didn’t show it so it’s confusing. I’ll add the glow~

      • antrik Reply

I think it would be better to actually show somehow that she broke the circle?…

(Though I guess it might be too much effort doing that retroactively…)

    • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

No worries, that’s one of the few things we know because you explained it somewhere. Breaking the circle puts the spell out.
I think it was when talking about transporting the supplies tent or something.

    • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

Possible. Now I wonder where her cabin might be. Is it near the citiy?

Or hollyhocks just are NI’s favourtite flowers 😉

      • JW Reply

There’s also that there is apparently a number of “location” pages on the site, which google can find, that collects comic pages for a given location. These where on the “Ada’s forest cabin” page.

Amazing, the things you find, looking for an Adasaurus…..

    • JW Reply

Spoiler, Replay is actually a 66 million year old story about the end of the dinosaurs.

        • JW Reply

Well, NI said the whole animal ears and tails was just cosmetics with no bearing on the story. The same could be said for them being human(oid).

      • NotImportant Reply

        DID YOU READ THE SCRIPT?!?!

Seriously, I need to hide it better =_=

        • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

Yeah, seriously! You don’t think writing in Polish and being on the other end of the world can stop us fanboys?!
Not while Ada’s using that shampoo!

Hide it on the internet, that’s a much safer place 🙂 ♫

          • NiWo21k

Psst Klorix, be careful, you dont want to know what people NI knows *looks behind his shoulder*….

          • JW

What, you’re saying all NI’s friends are creepy? 😛

          • NotImportant

At least as creepy as me, I’m afraid ๏◡๏
And yes, second chapter’s cover is Ada’s forest cabin. They are also arguing about fetching the print from there.

          • Klorix Camp dweller

            Yeah no… I didn’t read anything… I promise!
            *hides*

          • Klorix Camp dweller

Oh, thank you! I’ll make it up to you… somehow!

          • NiWo21k

            @JW
I would “NEVER” say something againt NI and her friends, i never heard of either, i am not even on this site, i….. i just go now….

            😛 😀 😉

          • JW

And yes, second chapter’s cover is Ada’s forest cabin. They are also arguing about fetching the print from there.

Ah, I had been thinking they were arguing about into the city (under the assumption Ada has an house/apartment there, and her cabin was just for getting away from the city every now and again.)

          • NotImportant

It wasn’t clear from the dialogue. But since it’s not really a spoiler or anything I assumed it’s okay to clear up the doubt~
