Better than expected

Hey guys! Are you still reading…? I sure hope so haha, sorry for being so quiet in the last month, this is all because I’m working very hard to finish all Historia assets before Comiket but! I think I’m done! Might still need to do some final fixes and such but all the missing backgrounds, CGs, and sprites are done so I’m super happy. To be honest, It’s been a while since I felt so tired of drawing. I want to do something else lol

And yeah, no Christmas drawing, I’m afraid. I’d love to do something but didn’t have time because of the Historia project. To be honest, I’m not going to celebrate Christmas at all. No family visits, no dinner, no present on Christmas day (we actually already gave each other present with my fiance). Reason? I guess a bit of work (my fiance couldn’t take any time off due to various reasons) and me trying really hard to draw Historia assets on time instead of thinking about Christmas. So if you’re not really spending Christmas this year… I’m with you haha.

Alex mentioned working in Japan last week in the comments and I thought I might mention it briefly. To be honest, when I was coming to Japan I assumed I’ll be subjected to 16 hours-long workdays, no holidays, constant crunch kind of work and for funny money too. I was prepared to do it for as long as necessary to get the permanent residence visa… It wasn’t like that at all. I work for Amazon as a programmer, some of you probably know that already, and I love it. It’s great. Work time is flexible, Japan has… what, 18 holidays per year? And I also get more than 15 paid vacation days on top of that. No peer pressure to stay late either since it’s not your typical Japanese office. There’s nothing to complain about.

So don’t worry about me guys, so far I’m really happy with my decision to move to Japan and I really like my job 🙂 Of course, if you’re thinking about working in Japan then yeah, most workplaces here are probably not happy places. I can’t really tell because I’ve never seen them myself but I’ve heard stories. I consider myself exceptionally lucky in that regard.

Alright, I should go to sleep. I’m feeling accomplished today! Enjoy the page and have fun during Christmas, I might not take any time off during next week but I’ll have a longer break during New Years’. See you next week!

I’d hazard to guess that learning magic and fighting demons beats getting eaten by said demons. But I’ve never been eaten by a demon, so I could be wrong.

It’s great to hear that your job is actually in an exceptionally good environment. I also heard stories of Japan and I just recently watched a bunch of Aggretsuko episodes. I was surprised to read that your situation is this much better.

@comic: If despair could be channeled into power, Rob would be unstoppable. Ada is the weirdest tsundere I’ve ever seen and I get the feeling that it’ll be a bunch more years until we find out why she is the way she is.

Julia must’ve had one giant “I done messed up” moment to go from high-powered, money-soaked cult mastermind to this shrinking violet. I suppose that literally ending the world could do that to a person, though. Y’think if (/when) the real world ends, we’ll see similar contrition from actual world leaders?

Not sure I 100% trust the transition yet. Still wonder if she’s running some private scams to ensure her own survival at the expense of others. You will be, in the future, largely what you have been in the past.

Unrelated, but her facial expressions are much more reserved than Ada’s, yet still somehow very expressive. I’m rather enjoying them.

Also, now I’m imagining an AU where Ada and Laura are Gendo and Fuyutsuki analogues who’re mad at Adam only because he beat them to the punch.

Wait, “Adam”? XD XD XD Maybe Adam’s deal was only /Second/ Impact, and Ada and Laura still have a chance to shape the future? XD XD XD

Oh no! She’s corrupting Laura to help her corrupt children!
Well, ok, magic based on religious principles might not be that corruptive, since they need to stay “pure”…

Also, still reading. And happy that the image mouse-over comments are back 😉

Since you did not have Christmas, please enjoy your New Year’s holiday then!

I can’t wait to see the t-shirt uniforms that Laura makes for the Ada Youth!
