This has been a somewhat tiring week and the next one will probably be no better haha We’re figuring out the move which means a lot of cleaning, throwing stuff out, and finding a moving company. First time doing in in Japan (I only had 2 suitcases worth of stuff when I was moving the last time, now I have furniture and appliances…). I also learned the hard way that Ikea furniture is considered unmovable in Japan. Nobody is willing to transport it unless you take it apart and put it back together yourself. Fun times.

Other than this, i finally finished my 1000 fixes and sent the novel I’m working on (current title: Beneath The Ice) to some beta readers… We’ll see what they say. I’m planning to draft an outline for the next story next week and then jump into the draft I completed last year but never actually edited. Very excited to work on something else (but also full of ideas for the sequel and prequel and…). Writing books is a lot of work and I might not be an amazing writer just yet, but I’m still having lots of fun doing it. Also, On the writer’s conference last week I met people who actually managed to be full-time writers which is pretty exciting. Not sure if you guys realize, but it’s not that easy to make a living writing books lol most writers still have regular jobs on top of it (or very supportive spouses). One day… one day…..

    Happy dreams..
Well, happier if it had indeed chomped Adam’s head off. But this seems good enough to wake up feeling a bit smug.

The spell is cast, the target chosen,
just for a beat, his smile has frozen.
You’re mine now, beast, now hear my roar!
I’ll show you bastard what I’m for!

The moment passed, the smile is back,
I always knew you had a knack!
You stole the beast from my control?
That’s something, right, but what’s your goal?!

The beast it roars and tastes blood,
    but unimpressed our manic stud.
A wicked smile, a surprised clasp,
fly like a bee, sting like a wasp.

    In the present, pleasant dreams,
like victory, is what it seems.
    Alas, the moment’s only fleeting.
T’is just a glimpse and not a beating.

Possible idea for you. Not sure If it would work but here goes:
Take your finished novels, All of them, to a comic con or equivalent in your area. You only have to sell one copy each yourself (first edition, signed even!) Then you can go to a publisher/agent with Proof that your work has an established market, you just need the mass production means.
Any way to stick another brand name sticker on the items to be moved? Be Like ‘This is from Costco. See?’
    *Big ol Kirkland logo.

For the moved items – maybe I should have hahaha

About the books – that’s not enough… If I sold thousands of copies of a self published book, then they might be interested (in a different book). Selling a couple copies to my friends means nothing.

    Definitely good page.

And I don’t understand Japan. I’m sure when I was moving some of the furniture was even less sturdy than Ikea one.

They claim it’s meant to only be assembled once. So they won’t even attempt undoing and putting it back together because that’s too much work.

Oh, and here I thought when they said “unmovable” they meant that they didn’t want to move it whole.

But yeah, disassembling and reassembling is prone to damaging the furniture, and if I had to work in a moving company I wouldn’t want to take on that responsibility either. Also the next time I’m moving I’m not gonna let some moving company disassemble my stuff either, because if someone gets to damage my stuff it’s gonna be either me or friends/family.

I read your descriptions of your life and see how the comic always gets done on time, and I can never imagine being as organized, efficient and driven as you must be.
