Okay so, first thing first, a friend of mine is publishing a comic book, so please take a look and maybe preorder? If you can? If you like comics? A beautifully drawn and well written ones especially? It’s autobiographical and super-interesting since, well, my friend has a very unique background and hell of a story to tell. So I really recommend checking it out! HERE is his Patreon where you can see and read some of the chapters for free and support his work!
What else. I started reading Sanderson’s third novel: Yumi and the Nightmares Painter and I don’t like it. It reads like a bad rip-off of Your Name but with more annoying characters and I’m really starting to suspect that I will only ever like Sanderson’s epic fantasy and not his romatic or whimsical books. And definitely not his YA books. I don’t like the way he writes teenagers and how they’re all super stereotypical. The book is full of anime-like cliches. I’m in 38% right now.
I also finished this one: Anatomy of a Breakthrough (this is non-fiction) and I liked it. I think I’ll read it again at some point. Lots of tips on how to get “unstuck” when you face a life-challenge or feel like you can’t progress in your goals. Very inspiring too.
Writing is slowly moving forward as well. I might manage to finish the second draft of my latest story by the end of the month and then will probably do some brainstorming and maybe rewrite the supposedly-funny draft I finished a while back but never edited. So I’m looking for funny books recommendations! I already have a list of Pratchett stories, but it would be good to have some variety. Any recommendations are welcome!
