Distractions

I wrote “Oh, hey there, handsome~” as a text under this page and realized that it’s actually implied twice. Too many handsome dudes in suits, I suppose. Anyway, this page was hell to draw and I’m glad I survived coloring this many people.

The Christmas ball continues! I hope you’re enjoying this little scene from the past. It only gets better. Those who support Replay on Patreon already know~

As for me, I’m pretty busy lately since I’m doing that writing workshop and also resumed working on Historia. The scenario for the third (and last) installment of the game is in the works right now. If you haven’t played the game at all (or haven’t played the second part), you definitely should! And also tell me what you liked/disliked! You can download from itch: https://lucid-a96.itch.io/ (it’s freeeee)

I’m mostly reading books about writing right now, but I tried All the Seas of The World by Guy Gavriel Kay and actually couldn’t finish it… There’s a moment in 40% of the book that felt ridiculous to me and I just couldn’t force myself to care about the characters anymore. I read and enjoyed other books by this author before. I’m not a huge fan since his stories feel more like fantasy memoirs, but to enjoy a memoir you need to give a damn about the characters and here the main one just didn’t click with me. Check it out if you like more serious fantasy, might work for you. The Monsters We Defy I finished and it was okay. I thought it would be a different story. I enjoyed the setting in this one. I started listening to Monsters Born and Made too and it’s weird, so I’m not yet sure if I can recommend. I think it will be too YA for my liking.

I hope you’re all doing fine. It seems the next global crisis is cooking up to be a financial one, so hold on to your seats and watch out for the waves.

An honest person on that job?
Please tell me it ain’t so!
    And there approaches, sucker’s mob.
A foul wind starts to blow.

‘Ah there you are, you’re hard to find,
and as I just was saying…’
But for their charms, he does seem blind,
caught in the game he’s playing.

While she keeps prattling, ‘Please don’t go,’
‘I won’t leave, lest you make me.’
Ignored, demeaned, not in the flow,
‘That girl?! Just how could that be?!’

    Throwing glances, but she’s done,
    alas, she’s not your kitten.
Won’t be yours to stay till dawn,
won’t care if you are smitten.

Ignored, demeaned, but not yet done:
    Blondie tries once more.
    In the meantime, Ada’s gone.
    Her boyfriend?! What a chore.

    Hey there, handsome, looking good.
But what took you so long?!
Now come on over, if you would,
    they’re playing our song.

    What’s this, Ada, ‘our song’?
Since when are you so chummy?
    Shut it Robert, play along,
    this CEO is crummy.

      What exactly?
      a) Because Ada did not fawn over him like the others.
      b) Because his fangirls are annoying him.
      c) Because he can’t ski.

Or is it d): Learning that there is an actually honest person in a leading position of marketing made him lose all faith in humanity, wanting to end it all.

        e) Ada said she wouldn’t leave until she was forced to, so he ended the world in order to not pay her dismissal clauses. That really was some terrible self-advertisement.

Young Adult books. A genre for 14-18 year olds, with a young protagonist. These books usually have very strong tropes, a love triangle, and typical teenage drama so they get repetitive for me.

I understand. I prefer harem Anime without love drama to love triangles. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, if you’ve read a bunch of YA novels, does that include the Discworld ones about Tiffany Aching? Technically, not all of them are YA, because she starts at 9 and gets 2 years older with each book, but she’s very mature for her age. And I only just found out that there is a 5th book, so I’m going to buy that one now.

I Harry Potter can count… But that genre is pretty new, so older books probably don’t count. And I actually haven’t read the ones about Tiffany Aching!

When you said that you’re glad you survived coloring so many people I was like
“Wait, isn’t the background infinitely more complex? …. Oh wait, you did that thing again where everything is blurry blobs and my mind fills out the blanks.”
I seriously never saw through that illusion until you explained it.

Man, I still remember watching one of your speed drawing videos where everything took shape bit by bit and then all of a sudden the entire sky was there out of nothing within like 2 seconds. I had to rewatch that part a couple of times because I couldn’t believe my eyes. I bet if you did wallpapers without people in them you could do like 50 per day.

Hahaha I might have just copy-pasted it and that’s why it took 2 seconds XD Drawing people takes the most time… And it’s also quite unpleasant. I can paint trees for days and days, that’s totally fine. People? Meh.

I think you used a brush that works similar to a spraying can and mushed red, orange and yellow together. I think it was the pic where Adam grabs Ada’s boo–, I mean: her shirt, but let me see if I can find the video again.

yo, 1 advice: when i saw Ada in that last panel it sort of reminded me of my dog, except for 1 thing: the ears. I think her ears should’ve moved up when she saw Robert. It’s just a suggestion, really. I think it’d be cute s2
