Fields and wheelbarrows

Buuuuut after an entire day of meandering these guys are still in the middle of nowhere. Although I wouldn’t call this a quality alone-time.

Hey everyone, thanks for reading Replay, as always! I’m doing okay, although I’m very tired recently, and decided to take an entire week off from work (and maybe even from Replay, since I need to write the next couple months worth of script anyway) to recharge. This summer is really kicking my butt and it’s hard for me to find anything enjoyable. I only think about sleeping and ice-cream, I’m not kidding. It’s definitely not a healthy state of mind so I’ll be attempting to fix this by some time off, relaxing, reading books, maybe drawing… We’ll see.

I don’t remember if I’ve told you… I started reading In the Shadow of Lightning and I’m past 40% and it seems it’s going to be a fun ride! I didn’t like the prologue and the first chapter (the entire setup, in general) wasn’t very convincing for me, but everything else afterwards is well done and an enjoyable read. It’s a no-drama book, just action and interesting worldbuilding. At least for the entire 40% there was very little drama going on. I’m also listening to Raybearer and it’s good too. Interesting world, interesting premise, but it’s YA so I don’t expect a lot of depth there. Maybe that for the best, given how tired my brain is lately. Anyway, good books! Read them!

My own writing is going well too. I’ve crossed 40k words in the newest draft so if everything goes well I should be done by the end of September? I probably jinxed it just by saying this hahah But I’m having fun writing this story and I’m looking forward to finishing it.

By the way, I’ve been meaning to read some poetry, but I haven’t really done that much before so I’m having trouble finding good poetry books. I want something maybe on obsession, winter, unrequited love? Any recommendations? If there’s anything you particularly recommend that is outside of these topics I’m interested too! Or if you know how to find good poetry lol

Don’t cry, Refugnic, she didn’t mean it that way.

Don’t worry, I haven’t taken it personally. Besides, my poetry tends to be more on the lighthearted side and not of the deep and meaningful kind. 🙂

Dude, I’d have totally held out for some postcards, a print, and maybe a coffee mug!

Hahaha I want that poetry for a specific thing and on a specific topic so Refugnic’s doesn’t count! And you can even say that he inspired me to think about poetry in general.

Through the forests, through the fields,
    these two are seen a-wandering.
    One keeps struggling fin’lly yields,
your health please don’t go squandering.

Hardly a sound, save for their own,
    and their barrow’s squeaking.
A staggering truth, the winds have blown,
has no more strength for speaking.

    ‘Wobble, wobble, this place works’
and down, out like a light.
Can’t figure out all of her quirks,
I know, try as you might.

Why didn’t you just ask for rest,
    why push yourself this far?
It’s my fault too, I should know best,
how much a fool you are.

Keep pushing on until you drop,
that’s so much like you, yes.
Now rest, my dear, I’ll set up shop,
sweet dreams and all, I guess.

I love the way he reacts to her passing out. To be fair, this isn’t the first time she’s pushed herself too hard!

Can see him just sighing, and adding her to the wheelbarrow and pushing on. She’ll be fine, shrug.

I don’t think it’s first time TODAY. On the other hand, she’s not normally physically tired, she has some magic problems. It may be harder to realize how close are you to passing out with THOSE.

Rob, dude, c’mon. She’s carrying at least 40 pounds of hair and freckles. Cut her some slack. The boot up in the last panel is perfect.

The landscapes here are great (as always). Especially like the poppies. Have always admired your flowerability.

Honestly, she already became my least favorite character here due to her “omg, im like, so confused, I love you but I, like, Don’t know what I want. Like, I like being with you, but then, like, I dont know anymore, like, I’m confused. Like, don’t hang out with other girls, because, like, I might get jealous, like, I don’t know, O.M.G, I’m like, so confused.” — girl, get a grip. You’re not 14. (would still be annoying though)

And Rob: “Sure girl, I’ll just be a semivirgin until you make up your mind.”

… I see your angle but this page is NOT reminding me how she can’t handle relationship in adult way.

Also, let’s face it, the settings itself is against her. She will likely be forced to avoid sex so she can do magic. Way to ensure there will always be plenty of unresolved sexual tension in the story!

I’m pretty sure sex is exactly what she’s been wanting to avoid since the start. And that a large part of the problem is that everyone assumes it has to be part of a relationship.
Having a good excuse is probably the best thing that ever happened to her. Makes it easier for the rest of the world to accept.

Meanwhile the swords are chatting among themselves: C= leads by consensus. Numbers for the others
C = *Yes I Know it’s undignified but they got us Out of there*
1 and 2: *Will they find us a master?*
    C= *Probably several*
3: *THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!*
C = *Yes one master per blade, that’s the usual idea, unless sets*
C = *Yes yes they know ‘pointy end goes in the bad guy’, these ones know That much.*
C = *And before You start yes they know our considerable power and consequences and will make sure the others do as well.*
C = *No none of the evil ones came with, they are still back there in a box.*
C = *No you can’t call dibs on the one who just fell and Nobody try and invade their heads. We will All know if anyone does.*

You’re probably hauling the wrong thing in the wheelbarrow…
