Accidental rivalry

OH Julia, do you really need to hear this form every single person?

How are you guys doing? We’re back to being hermits since covid cases are growing in Toyko. Also, it’s hard to go back to work after a week-long break… I want another break! Not much happened since last week, I baked a cake this weekend. Baking is great for quarantine, nothing’s better than a warm plum pie on a crappy die. Lifts your mood instantly, highly recommended.

In my free time, I’m mostly working on Historia, sketching all the assets needed for the second part. And there are SO MANY. We planned to launch on the winter Comiket but it seems it got canceled due to the pandemic. We’ll probably try to launch at least online? Not sure yet. We’re working hard to make it really nice. Need to raise the bar on each part, right?! If you have no clue what I’m talking about just download the game and play already, it’s pay-what-you-want, so you can grab it for free 🙂

Also, a warm welcome for all the new readers (lurking and not), and thanks for all the votes, everyone! Those are really making a huge difference and seeing this extra traffic on Replay makes me really motivated! I also read Stay Still, Stay Silent over the weekend and damn, that comic is so good, I wish I had more time for drawing extra stuff for Replay like little maps and notes about the demons and magic… Well, maybe after Historia is done, or something. Or I win the lottery and won’t need to have a day job anymore heh.

See you next week (or on Discord) and stay safe + healthy!

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons why I don’t really take long vacations anymore. 😛
(Besides, I just end up doing nothing. At least you do something worthwhile with your free time.)

His previous one is also quite good. I can’t remember the name though.

Her first comic is called “A Redtail’s Dream”. As you said it is also quite good, but I think Minna improved a notch when making Stand Still Stay Silent. For example, the info pages are pure gold!

I really liked those! I want to add stuff like that for Replay too. Fantastic art too!

You have to enter the lottery first for that to happen, though. And I sorta guess you’re not the type.
On the other hand, the chance of winning the lottery without entering is almost as big as when you have entered.

Reminds me of that old joke.

Once upon the time, there was a man, who prayed every single evening, that he would like it so much to win in the lottery.
This goes on for years, but he never wins.

One day however, during one of his prayers, he suddenly hears a booming voice from above: ‘Give me a chance already and buy a damn ticket!’

You got me there. I guess I’ll need to continue working then D:

At long last, true words are spoken,
    yet the awkward remains unbroken.
‘It’s not your fault, this world is lost,’
‘yet cause of you, my love’s star-crossed!’

‘Your rival you think me to be?’
‘Silly girl, he’s not for me!’
Yet worry clouds the kitties’ mind,
‘He may be dense, but he’s not blind.

Now listen girl, and listen well.
    he’s yet under another spell.
But hatred will just drive apart,
kill friendships before they even start.

Go try, befriend her, get to know,
and find, maybe, an ally, go.
All is just in love and war,
but by trying, you win much more.

He may be dense, but he’s not blind — This made me laugh xD Another great poem, Refugnic!

The poem was decent and flowed until the last section. That’s when it didn’t work at all. The grammar was completely devoid in the last section…

Also the second last second’s last section’s finaL line would sound better missing the “even.” It’d also sound better like this “killing friendships before they start.”

The last section though, especially the first two lines it’s like you lost your steam for writing… The final two lines are okay, but the two before it are just… not good. They don’t flow at all.

    He’ll what?

And even if he does, does it matter if she doesn’t?

Is it easier to be mad at her than at Ada because she’s less overtly terrifying?

Is it fair or helpful to be mad at either? Probably not, but you can’t help your feelings can you?

  5. Doom Reply

Spending all his time learning magic with Julia won’t make him fall for Julia; he’s too busy having fallen for Ada. Which is fair, I’m hooked on Ada too.

Bomb time! Julia: ‘Besides I thought you were with Kaspar, you two certainly argue like a couple. At least that’s what it looks like from the outside anyway.’

“Need to raise the bar on each part, right?!”
To be honest: No, reality isn’t like Prince of Tennis or Dragon Ball or literally any other Ganbatte Anime. Don’t burn yourself out. 🙂 Just a few sentences earlier you said it yourself that you want more holidays.

LOL small typo in your blurb below the page “nothing like a warm plum pie on a crappy die
I believe that “die” was supposed to be “day“. On the other hand if that’s not a typo, then well you got issues. LOL

  9. Noyb Reply

soo, does this means you’re gonna update that character relationship chart? since two of them aren’t a couple anymore

    • NotImportant Reply

Yeah I really should but editing those arrows is a friggin’ nightmare xD

  10. UnhappySlappy Reply

It’s suppose to be “we’re rivals.” It’s NOT supposed to be “we’re rivals.” The grammar is all wrong…or if you simply forgot the apostrophe, then the punctuation is wrong…

    • NotImportant Reply

Yep, forgot an apostrophe, thanks for letting me know, I’ll fix it later.

If you want to volunteer to be a proofreader then just let me know. Otherwise, I’m afraid you’ll need to get used to occasional typos if you want to continue reading!

  11. UnhappySlappy Reply

Ugh, I can’t even say it incorrectly. I was trying to say it’s NOT supposed to be “were rivals.” Auto correct doesn’t even want me to say it incorrectly haha.

  12. Howard Reply

I would think she would need a guard or something to be honest. you can’t tell me nobody in that camp is wanting to kill that girl if they all know about her teaching him magic. maybe that knowledge is need to know or something I know I would keep it Quiet.
