Special task force

In the end, I just wanted to paint some flowers. I hope you guys don’t mind.

What can I say… this has been a tough week at work and a boring weekend because we didn’t go anywhere (my fiance’s work + weather’s fault). I guess we’ll be trying to take a week off starting from next weekend and go to the mountains. Cross your fingers for me haha, work is busy but, hopefully, we’ll be allowed to take time off even with such short notice. Everything is good but I just need a break, I’ve been putting a lot of effort into work and detaching myself a little bit seems like a great idea.

Whenever I can, I work on Historia’s second chapter. It’s going to be AWESOME. I can already tell you. I guarantee it. We’re going to make it majestic, I’m super hyped and I can’t wait to show you all the art and the story and all the animations and special effects that we’re working on. You don’t know what I’m talking about…? Just play the first chapter!!! https://lucid-a96.itch.io/historia-act-1-doug

Also, you might have noticed, I’ve started advertising Replay again! Thanks to people from Kemono Cafe I discovered this: https://www.comicad.net/ and been spending some $$ to advertise Replay and help other comic artists (who after ad space) at the same time. It’s nice! And we’ve got some new readers which makes me really happy! Replay also clawed its way back to the first page of TopWebcomics so, to keep the momentum, I’m reviving the “First Steps” minicomic! I’ll be posting two episodes every week so vote and hunt for them!

    Flowers bloom in cottage’s shade,
as Robert cleans his holy blade.
‘Are you scared?’ he quietly asks,
as they review their latest tasks.

The glue that holds them all together,
through Laura’s whims or stormy weather,
a beacon of hope, a ray of light,
in these trying days of blight.

Stand strong, soldier, they still need you,
no matter how much, no matter how few.
These two go out, because they know you’re there,
and that you worry and that you care.

Set out, dear friends, for glory and hope,
and while you are at it, please bring back some soap.
The flowers bloom, the air is warm,
oh and Robert, sorry, but I don’t think she’ll transform.

      Hahaha that last part xD
I know you can’t tell from the speech bubbles and it’s a guessing game but it’s Ada who’s asking at the bottom of the page. It’ll be obvious from the next one.

        Eh, it was a 50:50 chance. 😀
Let’s just pretend it to be a typo and I meant to write ‘she’ instead. 😛

And yeah, I remembered how happy he was when Ada performed magic in front of him for the first time.
Now all that’s left for a real magical girl is a transformation sequence and a skimpy costume, right?

Though I think Robert wouldn’t live if that actually happened…either his mind would get blown or Ada would kill him after the fact. 😀

Rob would be fine, after a blood transfusion. We males have pressure relief valves in our sinuses, to protect us from having aneurysms every time we see cleavage. The twin jets of blood emitted from our nostrils also tend to lessen the brutality of attacks from enraged females.

    Nice mallow.

You wouldn’t want to be leaders would either of you? Neither of you seems to particularly like being the centre of attention (which is very relatable).

“It should be the last time we need to go to the city anyway” that would be the first time someone goes downtown for shopping and doesn’t forget anything. I’m pretty shure they’ll have to go back sooner or later.

Hehe, I still have copies of the first time the mini comic was run, I can see you changed a few details 😛
More freckles for Ada. (Among other things.)
Guess that’s an extra incentive not to miss it the second time either.

(Though I guess the updated version could have been from any time since I saved the comic.)

I don’t think I updated them… But they were originally posted in 2017, so much time has passed that I can hardly trust my memory lol

The flowers are amazingly drawn. I Also like the fact that not all of them blossomed, giving a really nice natural touch.
