Motorbike

Hey everyone! Robert found a fantastic distraction! Finally, something he can really put to use. Although it might be a bit disappointing that he didn’t decide to put the pitchfork from earlier into some good use, hm. Such a splendid weapon, right?

I was working hard on the secret project I’m doing with folks from the 4LS (we’re actually wondering if we should start a different, separate studio, under a new name) and that was pretty fun! I’ll probably continue this week and maybe work on some stuff for Kindle Manga project. Well, lots of fun stuff which I won’t be able to show you guys for a while, sorry! I also read through Noragami this weekend and wow, I didn’t particularly like the anime but manga was great! That was a fun read. I’m also in the middle of Sanderson’s Oathbringer and it finally got so exciting it’s hard to put the damned book away. I shall be strong…. Nngghhh…!

From other news: my jetlag is over, I believe, I forced myself to rest this weekend so that I’d be able to work fard from now on. No more travels planned for a while, nothing is supposed to happen, all nice and boring so I can focus on working and creating, yesss. Thanks for encouraging me to take it easy, it’s really difficult when there are so many fun things to work on.

Also, this will be the last page for a while, I’m afraid. I’ll post an official hiatus note next week, I think!

Glad to see that you’re still finding the time to update despite your obviously so very packed schedule. 🙂
I really don’t know if I’d be able to do that…in fact, I pretty much know that I wouldn’t, seeing how my day job and my family are already enough to derail my schedule almost beyond repair.

I mean, I do try to keep up, but I don’t seem to have your mad skills of time management. 🙂

So once again, hats off for you. 😉

Though actually…does Rob really mean ‘dry clothes’?
I mean, wouldn’t ‘clean’ clothes be a much more reasonable demand in this context?

It shouldn’t be that hard to find two trees to hang the laundry between, should it?
On the contrary, washing machines and detergent might be a lot harder to come by. 😉

Oh and there’s an ‘l’ missing in ‘still’ (probably spotted by someone already else cause I got interrupted thrice while typing this. :D)

Just finished reading your authors comment (I really need to make a habit of not commenting before reading it all)…but I recall what you will be doing instead, so my argument of you updating regularly (even if it is old pages) despite your packed schedule still stands.

I wish you the best of luck with your projects and hope for your dreams and ambitions to come true.
Cause if my opinion matters anything, you deserve it. 🙂

      But remember, don’t overexert yourself!
You gain nothing if you keep on working but destroy yourself in the process.
      None of us does.

I’ll keep checking back on the page every now and then, check Twitter etc. and hope to hear good news from you somewhere down the line. 🙂

Haha thanks! I’ll try to take better care of myself. I’ll also try to be active on Twitter, Facebook and Patreon and post updates so that you guys know where I’m at and how much more needs to be done before I resume the updates. I hope it won’t take long but I need this hiatus to keep sane. I really want to work on the game as well… Eh, can’t do everything! Not at once, at least!

Hey, just so you know: If there’s anything I can do to help (I know, chances are slim, but I’ll offer anyway :P), please let me know.
And please get some well deserved rest…but then again, knowing you, you’ll be slaving away anyway, just out of our sight.

        Still, take it easy.
Remember: What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? (Lucas 9:25, yes, they even knew that WAY back then)

Well, not everyone likes who they are, so some might welcome losing themselves.

From my own camping experience, I can confirm that wishing for dry clothes makes perfect sense: in prolonged rainy weather, persistent dampness is indeed a huge PITA.

Having said that, we haven’t seen much indication of rainy weather. This *could* be attributed to the fact that while raining, they’d be hiding out in the tents — so all the story would have to happen during pauses in rain… But that doesn’t really fit with Robert and Ada sleeping under the open sky. So I have to conclude that his proclamation is indeed strange…

Rob, now is a terrible time to be impulsive, take care fella.

Have a good hiatus NI, best wishes. We’ll be here when you get back. Well, the ones of us who successfully evaded the demons will…

    • Refugnic Reply

      Is he really that impulsive?
The bike would be able to get them to where they need to go and back far faster than walking.

The primary problem here is the noise factor, cause they’d pretty much alert any demon within earshot of their presence.
Does Ada have some sort of ‘Silencer bubble’ in her makeshift spell book by chance?
If so, this bike may well turn out to be a great asset.

If not…it may well turn out to be a great distraction to lure away demons blocking their way if necessary.

And regarding ‘evading the demons’…I doubt any of us can outrun our demons.
We only have one choice and that is to fight them until either side is, at long last, victorious.

Will you lay shattered and broken?
      Or triumphant and strong?

      😉

Refugnic, if there’s anything Celeste taught me it’s that you can’t defeat your demons, but that you can team up with them!
Come to think of it, Ada and Madeline do sort of look alike… I guess that’s just the red hair 😛

I was referring to, spotting something an immediately running at it with no regards to stealth. We’ve seen death in this village and hints that there are still monsters in the area. It would seem sensible to be prudent and approach anything with caution and stealth in mind to not attract unwanted attention…

      • Refugnic Reply

You raise a valid point @Rateus, however with all the crying and yelling done only just recently, I would think that they would’ve raised this ‘unwanted attention’ before now already.

Besides, never underestimate the armor of plot, which has been protecting the feeble and stupid for generations! 😀

But yeah…Stealth does not seem to be their primary concern.

Sad to hear about the hiatus NI, but I’m sure it’s necessary… After all, this comic would just go abandoned anyway if you got exhausted, so a break is definitely important! Good luck!

    • NotImportant Reply

Well, I’ll keep working on it anyway, just on the different part haha. A change of priority more than a break, I suppose. Thanks for understanding!

Why do I feel like he’s gonna start singing the in the next panel

  5. Joe Reply

I’ve just recently finished binging this comic! On this page, I noticed a small typo in the first panel, “Do you think it’s stil running?”

This is a really awesome story, I’ve really enjoyed reading so far! (Also, the website runs really well on mobile, so I’m thankful for that!)

    • NotImportant Reply

Thanks! Will try to fix sometime soon! Always appreciate readers hunting down the typos 🙂

And glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed and it’s not too bad on mobile, phew! I hope you stick around! Cheers!
