Memories of rain 6

Hey, I’ll probably be out of reach at the beginning of the week since we are travelling to Nikko and I leave my laptop behind (scary, isn’t it?). I hope you like today’s page and Ada’s little outburst. See? She can actually tell if something’s bothering her, she just needs to be pushed a little more. Robert already mastered the trick~

If you haven’t noticed my posts on Twitter and Facebook – vote incentive has been updated. Check it out if you are curious what Stefen’s assistant is up to! I didn’t have time to work on the new illustration even though I’m still thinking about it. All my free time is consumed by various trips and walks and then I just crash down and sleep… If you are curious what I’ve been up to you can check the blog on Tumblr. I changed the theme, it should be easier to look through photos now.

Do you guys know any good books or short stories written using first person narrative? I know, kind of a random question.

Just push the right buttons and watch the fun times commence.

Though quite honestly, despite being somewhat justified (Ada’s anger that is), this is something she needed. Badly.
Just taking the hits as they come, never saying anything, just ignoring it, bottling up your feelings…

Let’s just say, that’s not going to end well.

So it’s very important to have someone to confide in…and since she’s already embarrassed herself quite severely in front of this stranger…

Congratulations, Rob. You’ve got the job. 😛

It’s more like, he got totally carried away, to the point that he just didn’t think to pay attention to her reaction…

Read “The Chrysalids”, in school, a VERY long time ago It was our reading assignment one year.

It’s a sci-fi novella by John Wyndham. The idea behind the book was such a mind blowing concept to my young teenage mind, that I went and bought myself a copy that very same week. ☺ Had that same copy for over 25 years, until I lent it out to someone, and never got it back

Hmmm, I had two other emotes in that comment, that apparently didn’t make it.

Wyndham writes some very chilling books, Web creeped me out intensely!

Thanks for the recommendation! Added it to my list, it certainly looks interesting. And sorry about the emotes, not sure why WordPress decided to eat them.

If you can find them, Peter Douglas Warde’s (not to be confused with the paleontologist Peter Douglas Ward) novella “There Are No Elephants Here”, and (even harder to find) “The Wumple-Snuddeners” by Bill Peet (not the Bill Peet who worked for Disney). Finally, “A Lesson Is Learned But the Damage Is Irreversible” by Johnathen Mister (not to be confused by the webcomic that named itself after the book).

Ughhh after looking for those for a while I am beginning to doubt if they even exist! You weren’t joking about them being hard to find… Thank you for the recommendations, although I am not sure if I’ll manage to put my hands on them.

I just wanted to say that I love your writing, your characters, and your art style (Also, them freckles on her thighs is perfect… But i digress). I just now realized I’d been reading and voting, but never stopped to say how much I appreciate your work, so I wanted to do so before my ADHD kicks in and I get distracted and forget again.

That was a bit harsh, Ada. He’s just excited over your magic. Oh well, it’s the tsun before the dere, and he’s about to catch a facefull.

As for short-stories in first person, I’d recommend “All You Zombies” by Heinlein. Although it’s technically written in first person, second person, and third person all at once. Which tells you everything you need to know about it, without revealing anything at all.

I read through some articles about this author and his works on the Wikipedia and I love it already. This guy sure knew how to title his novels to make them sound extremely interesting. On the list they go, thanks a bunch!

It really was short! Interesting read, quickly picks up the speed too. Thanks for the recommendation! 😀
