Hey everyone, I hope you’re all safe and sound. As for me – not much is going on (and that counts as good news nowadays). Work is hectic recently since everyone but me seems to be full of energy since 2022 started, but that’s okay, I can handle it. I’ve been trying to write more after work and that’s been going pretty good. I’m almost done with the third book’s draft and that’s exciting. I also revised the first chapter of the book I’ve been querying and plan to resume sending pleas to agents as soon as I get it proofread. I was wondering if I’m getting any better but I was able to spot some structural issues in that first chapter which I haven’t seen before so I guess I’m making progress – that’s the most important thing. It doesn’t matter how long it will take me. As long as I’m moving forward, I’m okay with the process. After all, I only have this much time for writing after work and drawing Replay.
If you haven’t read Six of Crows I can recommend it! I don’t like heist stories, but this one has pretty cool characters and was an overall entertaining read. I’m in the second volume now (it’s a duology) and I rarely have the appetite for second volumes. I also finished a writing-related book, which probably doesn’t interest many of you, but it was good too: Story Genius: How to Use Brain Science to Go Beyond Outlining and Write a Riveting Novel (not much brain science there, I’m afraid, but the advice on plotting was sound). I also discovered Dirt Poor Robins (music!) today and am enjoying it; maybe some of you will like it as well.
As usual recently: please give Historia a whirl if you haven’t yet – it’s free! PLAY HERE!
