Of course, we need to see the new spell too! I added it to the spellbook with a short note about how it works but I’m going to paste it here as well. Feel free to decipher! And, if you like digging in esoteric books, you might want to compare it with the original Mathers’ version. Special thanks to my friend Nir who helped me with Hebrew~! <3 If not for him, they’d never have made it this far!

For random news from my personal life you might want to join our Discord: https://discord.gg/ttgpurr, this is where I usually go to complain, nowadays. Last week was rather uneventful, my fiance feels better (or so he claims), Japan lifted the state of emergency so we went to the ocean for a bit and I got a nasty sunburn on my legs, yey!

Also, I moved Replay to a different hosting so let me know if something seems broken or very slow and I’ll be digging into it.

Stay healthy and enjoy the new page!

I can’t figure out what’s happening in the last frame, but I guess we will find out on the next page. Why are there two circles? Is there enough stuff in the smaller one for two people and their junk? Hosting seems fine.

They’re appearing at the cabin where they found Julia. The outer circle is the protection circle she said up.
The small circle is the magic teleportation circle that transported them just now from near the camp to there.
At least that’s my take on it.

Too bad there isn’t anyone there, or they could say “Hi, we thought we’d drop by”

If memory serves, the vision with the red desert had multiple high voltage masts sticking out of the ground in the background.
    Plus, Adam was there.

So…I’d dare say, unless they’ve built terrestrial energy infrastructure on Mars while NASA wasn’t looking, I’d dare say that the chances of the teleportation spell relocating them to Mars are rather small. πŸ™‚

Hm, the quote this spell is using feels familiar…similar to a blessing I once heard.

    Why the cottage though?
Didn’t they want to go to town in order to get more blades?

Unless this is some sort of waypoint spell, which can only take you to places you are feeling connected to.
…or, quite possibly, this was ‘just’ a test to see whether the spell is actually capable of taking them to where Ada wants to go, so the cottage is very likely a lot better as a dummy target than some random location in a demon infested city.

It might also have something to do with it being in a protective circle. Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t want to teleport into an area full of demons.
I can’t remember what happened to the motorcycle. Did they get to the cabin with it in one piece? Cause then they also have a vehicle there they can use.

The Spell is a quote from Psalm 91 from the Bible, it was also one of the verses used in the temptation of Jesus

A prayer spoken, to forces divine,
now Ada, now, it’s your time to shine!
Draw the circle, speak your prayer,
And hold your breath, might need the air.

A pang of doubt, a final advice,
only one way to go, now close your eyes.
And away we go, beyond and beyond,
no time left to speak, no time to respond.

Just here, now there, a familiar site,
yet far away, from the demon blight.
The test run successful, the doubts are dispelled,
the prayer was heard, the bond was upheld.

Now off you go, to adventure and glory!
(And pray to your Gods, it won’t be too gory…)
Bring home the means to protect and serve,
may you now harvest, what you’ve come to deserve.

I’d really like to know, why it keeps killing my one separating new line…

      • JW Reply

Probably because it’s doing weird things with the tags.
This is what the browsers get:
        <p><i>..</p>
        <p>..</p>
        <p>..</p>
        <p>..</i></p>
And for some reason this is what firefox and chrome make from it
        <p><i>..</i></p>
        <i>..</p><p>..</p></i>
        <p><i>..</i></p>

I think it would work if you separately italicize each line (paragraph might also work).

        • JW Reply

Oops, forgot an opening <p> tag there in that second to last line of code.

        • Refugnic Reply

Thank you kindly for the input.
Isn’t it kinda funny, how we have all this standards how things are supposed to work…but simply don’t for some inexplicable reason? πŸ˜€

I wonder if I can use divs for the segmentation.
A shame that I can’t use CSS styling, but you can’t have it all, right? πŸ˜‰

          • JW

I don’t think you can use div; it’s not one of the allowed tags as I recall. But you could use blockquote.

      • NotImportant Reply

A new line will make a paragraph. You can’t have ‘i’ spanning across multiple paragraphs, you’ll need to repeat it in each one. I fixed it, I have the power~!

        • Refugnic Reply

I’ll try to remember that in the near future.
Thanks for the advice…and for fixing the botched formatting. πŸ˜€

I’ve said it before, and now is a good time to say it again: Ada is awesome!

Great to see another spell added! Hey, I just noticed that the spells page puts Saturn right in the middle. I don’t know if that was a stylistic choice by you, or if it’s from wherever you get these spells in the first place… but if it’s the former, might that have anything to do with Saturn being the god (Well, titan, technically) of time?

    • NotImportant Reply

Well, it was random, if I remember correctly, but I really like the result if Saturn really has anything to do with time!

In the spellbook I’m using, Saturn spells are mostly destructive.

I wonder if Rob intended to end that sentence with “happen” or “help”.

Being carried by angels is such a nice thing to imagine. Too bad they’re so fast. πŸ™‚

    • Sean Murphy Reply

Angels are also kind of a$$hole$. “One wing dipped in blood”… Killing is the only fun thing they get to do.

  8. Regis Earsquake Reply

So they arrive at mars and suffocate. The End. We maybe get two pages on an epiloge how everyone is eaten.

    Sorry for the spoilers πŸ˜‰

  9. Dragon Master Reply

LOL I’m with Rob holding your breath won’t do much good if you arrive on Mars.

    • Sean Murphy Reply

It would be pretty effective at rupturing your eardrums and damaging your lungs. You’d do better if you exhaled before going! You might last longer…

  10. Sean Murphy Reply

I love the pop-up text! Yes, it would be cooler if they arrived on Mars, like aroud 70 below or worse…
