New safe place

There you go! Nina knows what she wants.

No good news this week, I’m afraid. With Omicron looming over this year’s holiday season, I won’t be able to go back to Poland. You might wonder why and argue that it should be doable – it is, but coming back might become impossible and I can’t take that risk… So, frustrated, angry, but mostly just sad, I’m planning to cancel my PTO and just work through the holidays (Japan doesn’t have days off for Christmas as you might imagine). I’ve been feeling very frustrated lately, mostly because there are things I want to shred but can’t. Like cancer. Like covid. Like bad politics.

I don’t understand how everyone can be so surprised at another mutation. How they can make 20 different decisions in one week and create so much chaos because there’s no plan. I know nothing about politics or running a country, but this is just dumb.

Regardless… I’ve finished the two books I’ve been reading (you can check the previous page for the goodreads links) and I think I can recommend both. I’ll be continuing both series, the Bone Shard Daughter’s sequel came out last week, I think, so fresh out of the oven. As for my own writing, I’ve been working on a draft for a funny book, but with everything that’s been going on I’m just not in the mood and will have to shelve it for a bit. I’m going to brainstorm a new story, and hopefully the outline won’t turn out terribly depressing.

By the way, I noticed that some Patreon patrons left so I want to remind you that depending on your pledge you can get a Replay-style portrait of your character, read 2 pages ahead, see pages in full size, without speech bubbles, and also see their sketches. So you know, consider supporting! It pays the server bills and my early retirement. Telling your friends about the comic or buying me a donut through Kofi (I’m one of those people who don’t like coffee) is an excellent idea as well. Thanks in advance!

Well, I hope you had a better week than I did.

A place to sleep and I want tea,
    this deal I offer you.
Be nice, be good, be kind to me,
and I won’t make you blue.

So now, my friend, your answer please,
    take it, leave it, what?
Will take you heart, will take your keys,
will take your home, your hut.

What can I say, oh Nina dear,
    for ‘No’ it cannot be.
This choice is bad, this much I fear,
but you’re the one for me.

So take a seat, feel free to stay,
and please don’t mind my stares.
The things I feel I cannot say,
but know, I’m one who cares.

So no more running to the woods,
stay here, stay safe and sound.
The rest, we’ll see, sort out the goods,
in your eyes I have drowned.

In my head-canon, after Nina says she’ll draw whatever Stefen wants, this happened:
Stefen: “Draw me like one of your French girls…. no wait that was the other way round!”
    Nina: “Too late!” 😀

As far as politicians go, being narcissistic is 100 times more important than being competent or else you won’t survive up there. Hence the current situation. And they would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for those meddling people who, thanks to the internet, can actually see how dumb they are nowadays.

This is currently changing bit by bit. Anyone who wishes for it to go faster can go ahead and try to either become a politician themselves or openly support someone they like and trust. Nobody will do that for us.

Lol things will go fine right up until she decides to go to sleep in the buff and he’s doing an all nighter guard duty or such and walks in on her, unable to hide his reaction.

I would suggest that is the reaction she would want. The funny/sad thing is when its happening to me I can never see it.

I’m sure politicians would be able to plan much better if only they could negotiate with covid and get it to agree on the plan. Unfortunately, covid is completely ignoring any attempts at negotiation, which is very confusing for politicians. They solve everything with negotiation. They are even negotiating with wind and sun about energy policy. Sure getting stable supply of those can’t be harder than negotiating with Russia about stable supply of oil.

So, how big is his stash of tea, ’cause I don’t think it will last long.

On the other hand, maybe someone can get their hand on some (pepper)mint, that stuff grows like crazy…

I’d imagine he’ll start regretting his decision once she throws out his cigarettes…
