No good news this week, I’m afraid. With Omicron looming over this year’s holiday season, I won’t be able to go back to Poland. You might wonder why and argue that it should be doable – it is, but coming back might become impossible and I can’t take that risk… So, frustrated, angry, but mostly just sad, I’m planning to cancel my PTO and just work through the holidays (Japan doesn’t have days off for Christmas as you might imagine). I’ve been feeling very frustrated lately, mostly because there are things I want to shred but can’t. Like cancer. Like covid. Like bad politics.
I don’t understand how everyone can be so surprised at another mutation. How they can make 20 different decisions in one week and create so much chaos because there’s no plan. I know nothing about politics or running a country, but this is just dumb.
Regardless… I’ve finished the two books I’ve been reading (you can check the previous page for the goodreads links) and I think I can recommend both. I’ll be continuing both series, the Bone Shard Daughter’s sequel came out last week, I think, so fresh out of the oven. As for my own writing, I’ve been working on a draft for a funny book, but with everything that’s been going on I’m just not in the mood and will have to shelve it for a bit. I’m going to brainstorm a new story, and hopefully the outline won’t turn out terribly depressing.
By the way, I noticed that some Patreon patrons left so I want to remind you that depending on your pledge you can get a Replay-style portrait of your character, read 2 pages ahead, see pages in full size, without speech bubbles, and also see their sketches. So you know, consider supporting! It pays the server bills and my early retirement. Telling your friends about the comic or buying me a donut through Kofi (I’m one of those people who don’t like coffee) is an excellent idea as well. Thanks in advance!
Well, I hope you had a better week than I did.
