Silent plea

Hm! Spontaneous teleportation! And where to?

How are you guys doing? I hope everyone is well! I think my biggest achievement from last week was doing the Yamaton! There is a train line around central Tokyo. It has 30 stations and the whole circle takes about 40km. Apparently it’s a thing to walk that route in October, and so we did! Took us 10.5h with a lunch break included, so not bad at all. And, believe it or not, I can still walk today after doing all this haha It was a fun experience! We even encountered other groups doing the route while we were walking.

Apart from that, I was trying to start writing the next novel this week, but had little time for writing, somehow… So I’m at 5k words so far, lol. A humble beginning. The querying is still pretty quiet, so no update there. Maybe in two more weeks.

What else… Ah, I’ve finished The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina and definitely expected more from this book. The mood and settings are very nice though, if you’re curious about magic with Ecuadorian roots then it’s a very nice book to read. Definitely very unique.
The next one I started is Under the Whispering Door and I think it will be a bit too slow for me to really enjoy. I’m 38% in and there was nothing innovative or particularly interesting going on. It deals with grief from a perspective of a dead guy (he’s now a ghost). Check it out if you like slow-burn gay romances (apparently).
I’m also trying to watch Foundation but ehhhh… I became so picky with books and movies since I started to take writing seriously. Or I just have a terrible taste in both books and movies!

See you guys next week! I’m going back to writing, I still have 30 mins before I need to go to sleep haha~

    A solemn sobbing, silent plea,
from this place we now must flee.
An old enchantment comes to life,
take away, the hurt, the strife.

Take away us from this pain,
let it please not be in vain.
Take us where help can be found,
tell me please, where are we bound?

    To your master, far away?
Or the red desert, run astray?
    Anywhere, but please not here,
Help the one, whom I hold dear.

I didn’t know it was a thing to walk the Yamanote Line in October… I guess it makes sense? It’s the only month with almost guaranteed good weather in Tokyo! You won’t die of heatstroke. You won’t freeze your ass off. And it probably ( …though it did this weekend) won’t rain.

Is there a specific walking map that you used or did you just keep the tracks in sight whenever possible?

No map, just googled (with google maps) the most reasonable route to the next station! It did rain a little bit on Saturday, but it was still a nice walk 🙂

Wait, teleportation? This is not restoration/healing? (Maybe the final panel WOULD deserve more space.)

Also, is this classical “you were suddenly teleported so you couldn’t take the loot with you? Do they even have their backpack?

Swords of magic are drawn To magic it would seem. A good way to winnow out the useless stuff.

Aren’t they planning to add magic to regular swords? So those aren’t exactly useless.

Hmm, looking at those spears/halberds in the background, I think I’d rather have a magic version of that than a sword. Just for that extra bit of distance.

No person should die until after the person who loves them….tells them.

“…If tomorrow never comes…” Not the worlds biggest C/W fan, but Garth had it right on that one.
