New paths

Finally! The new chapter! I hope you are at least as excited as I am! People on Patreon can already see the next 2 pages of it hehe~ I’m extra proud of them, they came out really nice. I never really liked the 1st chapter much (I mean in the original story) and the 2nd one was more exciting but after the heavy revision which I made lately… It’s going to be extra awesome (*°∀°)=<3

And hey, that’s one of the new characters in the background. I bet you already have some theories from the cover alone lol

I wanted to say that I’m still amazed by the number of votes you guys manage to produce, THANK YOU! \(-ㅂ-)/ ♥ ♥ ♥ I’m going to add a new extra-comic strip tomorrow as a new vote incentive and probably another one on maybe Wednesday? So don’t miss them!     It doesn’t matter how often i see this page, its always great to see it 🙂
    And i now that the next page will also be one that everyone will enjoy – espacially the last panel 😀

    That so many people care (and because of that also vote you all this time so high) is all because of all the work you do. The point for me why i love support you and your work is the same why i love Spice & Wolf – With every page, with every update i can see you love writing and drawing you characters, and i dont mean just one or two: You love your story and and everyone of the characters in there. I don’t know how your first version has looked, but now after you finished your first chapter and after the start of the second one this is more obvious with every page, and that you still want to write about them and you still have such fun with it just shows how much you care and thats why all your readers, fans and patrons care and support you the way they are 🙂

    And with the next side comic pages i think this voting will even go higher 😉

    So again thanks for creating and caring for this amazing comic 🙂

      Thank you, you are very sweet <3 I really do love those characters, that's true... Maybe it's because the original was written years and years ago and that gives me that feeling that I've known them for a long time now, hah. Drawing and writing this is a pleasure for me but it's way more fun if I can enjoy this project with everyone so thanks for being there!

        Like i said, its obvious that you like them – i have read so many different stories the last years (comics or not) and you can quickly see if an artist stands behind his “creation” – But Replay was the only the second story i have read in the last 10 years that gripped me like my favorite Story (S&W) – i know it sounds like exaggeration but its true (i like many things but your work was different – i just posted my Top 10 Webcomic list and Replay always landed in every situation on the top) 🙂

        And also something you should never underrestimate and thats in my eyes the second important thing: How you work with your readers – you say it yourself you like it when there are other people to enjoy your work with you, and with your aktivity in the comments (here or on Patreon) you show your readers that they are also important and with voting and commenting they repay you – In my eyes you do everything right 😉

        So now i have to change my keyboard, i just saw that so many letters are getting lost when i type o.o

          Wow, there’s some real blasts from the past in that extended list. I was reading shifters something like 15 years ago. And e-depth angel almost 10 years ago.
          I should really check back on some of those old comics that dropped of the face on the earth years ago to see if any others have come back.

            Shifters Online went on hiatus for a long time and just started updateing again this year – i only found out because i have a habbit of clicking through my hiatus list now and then. And E-depht angel went on a long time until last year when they created their visual novel that should be released somewhere this year, after that the comic will continue (at least i hope, because it got interessting befor they stopped it).

            Sometimes its interesting to go back and look what happend with some of the older ones – After my experience mostly the sites went down (what i find sad, because some interesting ones got lost – Thunder and Lightning is one for me) but many came back from their hiatus and started updating again in some way (i did a post about my first webcomics i remember starting reading and was surprised that one was translated in english around 2008 and one artist who just dissapeared one day, came back).

            I found another old bookmark list from the past 15 years with many more comics – i am curious what happend with all of them 🙂

    Ada is already so unhappy that she doesn’t even bother catching her notes on magic… 🙁

    Of course, this is just a *wonderfully drawn* title page and might not show any real content.
    Also, yay, finally caught up. I can now comment in the active part of the site, though I didn’t refrain earlier…

    I’m hoping Julia is like Robert or Stefen’s relative, and not someone who will compete with Ada for Robert. Sofia might but she lacks the courage to act at this particular moment in time. (Even if she did have the gumption to tell Robert I think Ada would scare her senseless quite easily. She seems like a sweet girl but more than a bit timid, not the kind of person you’d take on a date to a haunted house. On that note I wonder who’d be worse Nina or Sofie?)

      Oh, you’re right, those pages look like they come from a genuine book on magic. I was so distracted by Ada’s sad face and the wonderful art that I did not pay attention to them.

      Cause it’s just a sketch, I don’t add everything to the gallery. Simpler drawings stay on Twitter/Patreon/Fb but I haven’t posted that one outside Patreon yet, thanks for reminding me ;D

          We all need; the question is: what armor must others bypass before we will allow them to see our need?

            It’s a balance between protecting yourself from those that would exploit your needs vs opening yourself up to people that would (help) satisfy you needs. Which will depend on the people in your environment, but also on how resilient you are in recovering from letting the wrong person in. Bad experiences, especially early on, can lead to an unhealthy amount of armor building up; and unfortunately it’s hard to tear that down later.

    So, now that chapter 1 is over, does that mean there is going to be a book? It might become a big success in Japan, too, what with their passion for Tsundere characters. “Polish Tsundere” might become the next big thing. 🙂
    Yeah, she probably isn’t from Poland, but that’s NotImportant, right?

    I just watched your making of video. As always, it’s great. It was amusing to see how many layers you made for Ada: eyes, skin… even her shirt. 🙂
    How long did it take to make this?

    And how long have you been drawing/painting? The level of detail is just amazing with all the shadowing, light effects, the clouds and whatnot.

      It took 4 hours + the initial sketch (around and hour? I can’t be sure cause I don’t have it recorded). Glad you like it! And I’ve been painting in manga/anime style since the beginning of Replay, previously I was drawing in a way more realistic style (for many years). Drawing is my main hobby and I’ve been working as an illustrator for some time too 🙂

          Mostly children’s books for Polish publishing houses so not really! It was a fun challenge but I’d rather be paid for programming and let drawing be just a hobby, it’s way more fun that way.

      I’m kind of new in the community so I’m not familiar with how the idea but I think it could be hard for me to get a visa to US for a con, hmmm… No plans for now, since I’m kind of stuck in Japan for the time being~

          I know, right 😀 Not sure about the Comiket, it’s awesome and I’d love to go but I don’t speak Japanese (yet) and don’t have any friends that do so it would be hard to rent the table and follow the procedures (especially when I have no experience and have no idea how this normally works).
