Go go go!

Poor Rob, forever kept in the dark, hah~ We won’t get to see Ada talk about her plans, but we’ll sure see her put them in motion!

A little something I promised a month ago – a process video for this page! Those who support me via Patreon saw it already but now I’m posting it here for everyone. Just in case anyone else is interested how Replay’s pages come to life. Or want to laugh at me drawing Ada’s chin like 50 times before I finally do it right ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

 

I also received a link to lovely video feature from NiWo21k! He talks about three webcomic series and Replay is among them!     Hmm…I do wonder why Ada would be blushing when Rob’s asking about her plan.
    I mean, it’s not like her plan involves getting undressed again or something.
    At least it wouldn’t make much sense under the circumstances.

    Heh…you certainly would’ve liked to squeeze it out of her, huh Rob?
    Okay, I’ll stop you. 😛

      I sometimes draw them blushing when they are angry, flustered and so on. Doesn’t always mean romance-related emotions.

        Totally legit. Faces also become red when people are angry, etc.

    Why do i have the feeling that this diary will become more than it seems in the future.
    Also its good to know who has the say in theire relationship 😀

    And i meant every word i said in my video – great work, and i am looking forward where you story will go 🙂

      The interesting thing about the diary is, that Ada apparently doesn’t really know what’s inside, or, much rather, it didn’t really work until recently.

      I remember her saying: ‘God, why is my handwriting such a mess?’, meaning that she has trouble deciphering it, meaning she doesn’t know exactly what she has there, while still knowing that it’s hers.
      This leaves multiple options for how this is possible, I’ll state two here.
      1) Ada somehow came into possession of a real magic book, which she copied into her diary as doodles and when magic returned to the world (and with it, the demons), the doodles suddenly started working.
      2) This isn’t their first run on this calamity.

      I actually wrote a shorty about this possibility a while back (should be in the FF section) which is based on the concept behind the PS2 SRPG: Grim Grimoire where the protagonist lived through the same 7 days over and over again, until she finally had the power and knowledge to do it right.
      Alternatively you could also look at Wild Arms V: The 5th vanguard, which features a similar concept (though that one is far more tragic than GG)

      The major difference between Grim Grimoire and this comic is, that neither Ada nor Robert seem to have a clue as to what happened or how to stop it.

      However it would explain a number of things, like for example how they have magic, demon-killing swords or a diary with all kinds of witchcraft inside.
      It would also explain the visions they have every now and then. They aren’t premonitions per se, but much rather memories of their previous runs.

      This, to make my point complete, also happens to work just nicely with the title of the comic: Replay.

      But of course all of that is mere speculation, but unless NI gives me a compelling reason to believe otherwise, I’ll keep this scenario in the back of my head. 🙂
