Admitting defeat

Seems someone has lost his nerve. Unfortunately for all of us, and especially for those poor souls in the camp, Stefen has no idea what’s with the inscriptions. But at least he openly admits he has some knowledge about the arts of magic, so infamous among serious scientists.

Apart from Stefen’s little squabbles with his assistant – I’ve got some exciting news! You probably already noticed the video below, that’s me drawing on of Replay’s pages. I recorded the process  which took almost 6 hours (video is 4 times faster and takes 1.5 hour). You have no idea how much I struggled with various encoders and video editors before I realized that Photoshop could edit videos… Damn, I’d have saved hours if I knew better what I’m paying for ლ(╹◡╹ლ)

Anyway, the full video is now available for $10+ Patrons since they are the only people who have access to spoilers, and this is a future page. You can, of course, wait until the 9th of October and I’ll make it available for everyone. I don’t like the idea of ‘Patron-only’ things; I want everyone to enjoy my creations. So look forward to the full video!

And what is probably more important – we have switched to a new server. It should be faster, better and in general super awesome. At least that’s the hope, since it’s a tad more expensive than the previous machine. If something doesn’t work right please let me know (email or comments). We’ve experienced a lot of downtimes in the last week, so it was a hasty decision, but thanks to Replay’s lovely Patrons it wasn’t a difficult one (‘∀’●)♡

That’s all! See you next week and let me know what you think about the video! I could probably try streaming too, would you guys be interested in watching me draw while chatting about Replay? Let me know!

I like the new server, very notable difference. I noticed it was faster before I read. Especially considering the page is fresh.
Cool that you’re making videos now. Even if I can’t afford them.
I feel like Stef is still hiding something. That sudden change in attitude makes me want to keep an eye out for him.
Also, that vote incentive is amusing. Considering he’s blushing, did he figure out what Ada is thinking about him? Or is she Tsun in her notebook “Robert is such a jerk! He doesn’t understand girls at all!”

No worries, video will be available for everyone when the page I’m drawing in it gets published :3
And glad the new server is working nicely!

By the look of them they might have better luck comparing notes with the old norse runestones than anything. Those had a magic of sorts in them as well.

Looks like someone is realy frustrated that there is something he doesn´t know or can help with.

And there was definitiv a change in the loading speed of the site.

About your videos: i realy love wathing these kind of videos. It always impressiv how much work goes in only one page.

Glad to hear that changing the serwer was worth the trouble. And I can try making more of those videos, although I’ll probably need to find something different than Windows 10 built in recording tool, it kind of struggles with Photoshop for some reason. Anyone knows something good for screen (window) capture?

Doesn’t photoshop have a built-in record function? Because I know some drawing programs do.

None I know of, but after finding a whole video editor inside of it… I guess I should try looking for such option there first.

I would love to see more of these 🙂
Sadly i cant say i know a good capture software. Sadly i never used or needed one, so no suggestion from my side. The only tool i once used was FRAPS and i dont know if that will work.

Like i said, i dont know if it works – i only used it at the time i worked for a gaming magazin for benchmarks for pc games – but i love to hear if you tested it 🙂

I used to use FRAPS but I ended up finding it just not worth my time (MANY reasons, not just how the program performs). I’ve dabbled with PlayClaw as well.
What I’d really recommend though, is ManyCam. While I haven’t used it, I’m pretty sure ManyCam has a record option (and it has a lot of other features as well).
There is also dedicated Screen Recorder software out there, I’ve tried a few of those over the years as well.

Regardless of what you end up trying out, what I have to recommend you do is to use the Free Trial of the software, it’s rarely going to impact the quality or performance which is really the only two things you’re wanting to test (aside from the User Interface and the formats it can save/export to).

Thanks for the advice! I’d rather use something free though, since I make those only for fun and spending even more money on Replay is kind of… Well, I’m reluctant to do it. Especially when I’m not sure how many people would actually enjoy those.

This Has to be My favorite Moment Yet. It feels so satisfying to see him all but openly admit that He doesn’t even Know how to figure out what He’s dealing with.

Oh well. Even with those weirdly shaped frames, she is still the best girl…
That angry expression in close-up looks so good on her. Shame you’re not going in for accurate representation of lens distortion, but that is forgivable.
