Distrust

Someone here is jumping to conclusions~

Reading your comments is always so much fun! Honestly, I don’t think there’s any necessity for Nina (or any other girl on her place) to turn on her girly superpowers to ask a simple question. Stefen started to act fishy so she got suspicious, that’s it. And don’t worry, those two will have more chances to interact because I like torturing our poor, self-proclaimed mad scientist. As you have probably already noticed I’m not a fan of straightforward romance plots.

If you’re bored with Nina and Stefen you might want to check two next pages that go back to Ada’s little cabin:

I haven’t said anything about fun things I’ve been doing lately so here goes: I finished reading Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden and I loved it, I recommend it to all those who enjoyed Uprooted by Naomi Novik (which I recommended a while back and I know some people here enjoyed it). I also had some time for manga and anime (because: airports) and so I had a good laugh reading Mob Psycho 100 and enjoyed few first episodes of The Rising of The Shield Hero, the new Bogiepop series and The Promised Neverland.

I’m still one page behind after all this travel but I’m not too worried about it. I also plan to start running some ads for Replay this week, the lack of comments and smaller readership (compared to the time before the hiatus) is making me depressed. I really enjoyed working on this comic the most when I could chat with you guys under the pages. Fingers crossed I guess. If you feel like any of your friends could enjoy this silly comic please share! Thanks!

Also: spring is here!!! Plums are blooming already, it’s amazing.

Given her comment about “fucking male solidarity” I highly doubt. As I understand it, that phrase means she assumes Stef was keeping secrets from her about Filip.

Well I guess the Winternight trilogy will be next on my to-read list. Some books I would recommend is Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger, it’s a light read is fairly interesting.
Also if you’re liking the Boogiepop series, then I recommend the manga In/Spectre.

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll check those out. I started reading “The Black Prism” now but I can’t judge anything since I only managed to read a couple of chapters. Interesting magic system though!

    Ooh, I did love “Uprooted”.
But I already have so many books I still want to read, literally, piled up (literally literally, as in an knee-high-ish actual pile, not figuratively literally). I wish I could read faster.

We all wish for that haha. Audiobooks are an option, especially when you spend time in commute. I like to listen when I’m drawing.

I’m not really good at keeping my attention on an audio-only medium. I just get distracted doing something else and stop hearing what’s going on.

    Hey,

As I still have to type everything with one hand because of my cast, I’ll try to keep this short.
I usually don’t check the comments, because I’m not a big fan of gray on dark backgrounds. But you asked nicely, and I guess you not using disquss is a pro too so here I am. So this is my first comment since I started reading the comic at the end of chapter 1. I do have the feeling I need to re-binge again, as I start to forget who people where. For some reason I always need to binge again after I follow a comic for awhile.

The comic is great so far, although I crave for some world building/ back story.

Thank you for taking the time to write this comment (and with a cast too), I really appreciate it. I know there’s a whole bunch of people lurking around but I like to get to know (even if just a little) the readers so thanks for saying hello! Glad you enjoy and I hope I’ll be able to fill the blank in the future.

That reminds me… I need to finish that Ada & Rob backstory thing and start another one, huh. Damn, if only there were 34 hours in a day instead of 24…

FWIW, I’m a big fan of grey text on black background — though IMHO the particular shade used on this site is too dark… Something like #aaa would work better. (IIRC that’s what traditional white-on-black text consoles are using — and it looks about right on a quick try.)

The grey (instead of black) text in the comment input box on the other hand is just a terrible idea through and through…

I have been reading since chapter 34 just came out, so about 1 to 1,5 years now I think, and never commented. Even though I don’t comment a lot on stories, I always enjoy the read and just binge read this comic again to know what was going on. Ada is very cute and I’m curious what will happen in the cabin.
Once I find a new job I’ll be supporting you on Patreon, currently, I sadly can’t afford it. You definitely deserve the support so that’s on my list!
Keep on making this great comic and know that I’ll be reading as soon as I see the notification about a new chapter ^_^

Thank you for saying hello! Much appreciated! I’m glad you enjoy the comic and don’t worry about the money, please share Replay with your friends instead (if you think they could enjoy it). Ads are very expensive xD

They are so simple though! XD But sure, if there’s demand for my beautiful handwriting on t-shirts then there’s no helping it. I’ll try to do it this weekend if time allows haha~

Oh, she was trying to use her superpowers. I thought he was just creepy. She should try puppy eyes…

Sorry I’m not much of a commenter. I’m definitely too chaotic a reader, to be reliable in that area. Love the comic, though! Been reading for … a long time now. (and lately can never remember which username I use here, to comment… guessing it’s my older one though)

Haha no worries, thanks for stopping by and saying hello! I’m very happy you enjoy the comic 🙂

honestly i’ve been here since the beginning of chapter two but this comic is one of the best I’ve read, the art and story blow me away and the characters seem so relatable, well all in all you are a great writer and great artist, only reason i’m saying this is because you deserve it. Unrelated note: poor stefen…

And the lurkers emerge from the shadows.

I have, let’s see… 9, I think? webcomics that I follow, not including Garfield and Dilbert. I can’t figure out the release schedules for most of them so I just check when I start feeling like I might have missed an update. I also have some as recurring events on my calendar but that often fails due to schedule changes or hiatuses.

Anyway, all that was context to say: I’m highly engaged with so many stories and other people’s thoughts in the comments that I’m not sure I could also keep track of the communities and personalities attached to them. And then commenting regularly is another step beyond that, because it requires that I make sense of my thoughts in an interesting way, pulling all of those previous elements together. And then I could only target one comic with all of that…

But I should take this opportunity to say: Thank you for the story. I’m afraid I don’t have anyone to recommend it to; my enjoyment of webcomics was something I found mostly by myself.

Like a previous commenter, I’m often wondering who this or that person is. A rebinge may be in order.

    “Fucking male solidarity …”

    Fucking female presumptuousness.

It’s a shame how accurate this is to real life, even if it’s the literal end of the world, some things don’t change. But just as always, the art is beautiful.

Also on a side note, the website says it is ‘Not secure’? Was wondering if that is just me, or if the site is experiencing security issues of some kind.

It’s not just you, and it’s not really that the site has a security issue either. It’s just that communication with the server isn’t encrypted (HTTPS); so metaphorically it’s like all the data is sent on postcards (i.e. readable for the people delivering it) instead of sent in envelopes (private). You can probably see how that would be a problem with a banking site, but not so much for a webcomic. Since your browser doesn’t know which kind of website this is, it alerts you that it’s “not secure”.

But, even though it’s not really necessary, it would probably be a good idea to enable HTTPS, because I think google ranks websites lower if they don’t have it. And it’d be a good thing if simply every website had it, so people don’t have to think about it and figure out what their browser means by “not secure”.
