Fresh start

We’re back at the camp! We’re already at the ~80th page of this chapter and I’m nowhere near the end of what I wanted to do in it =_= It’s going to be slightly longer, it seems… I still underestimate how slow things can be in comics, ugh.

How are you guys doing? If you already got your vaccine – congrats! I probably won’t get mine this year, with how things are going. But we’re still doing the Olympics so that’s great! Can you smell sarcasm? It should ooze off of your screen this very instant.

Apart from some covid-induced frustration, I’m back from vacation. I’m going back to work on Monday. We had a great trip, I saw many new things, cycled across a couple of islands, and took a ton of boat photos (I really like boats, if you don’t know). When it was raining, I worked on my writing and made great progress on another book that I’m writing. I guess I need to start using the titles when I talk about them, or I’ll only confuse you all. So I’ve recently finished “The Cleansed Ones” and will be sending my baby to the literary agents as soon as I get a reply from a person who’s taking a look at my query. The second book doesn’t have a title yet (I’m bad at titles and naming things…) but it’ll maybe be “Dream with one eye open”? No idea. Seems kinda long. I’m revising it now, after some minor plot changes to make it more concise.

I also managed to draw a bunch of sprites for Historia. I’m actually almost done with those and will only have the remaining CGs left to do, woohoo! The end (and the launch) is in sight! 😀

    It better not be that damned fool,
    whom I once upon a time made drool.
    Please no, I don’t think I would last,
    the ‘us’ I cherished is now past.

    Well then, let’s see who’s coming ’round.
    If they come looking, I’ll be found.
    No, I won’t run, not any more.
    From what the fates now have in store.

    You hear me fates, I’ll take you on!
    You’ve refused me, now I’ll be strong!
    I won’t give in to your despair!
    Find a new tool, out of my hair!

    I was a coward, I’ll admit,
    searched for escape, stuck in a pit.
    And now I’m bored out of my skull.
    When did my life get this damn dull?

      Funny, I read ‘paints’ from the get go.
      Well, I guess that makes the bunch of us even after the ‘meatballs’ incident I caused a while ago. 😀

      Besides, considering Sofia’s variable wardrobe, I think there’s currently no shortage of ‘change of clothes’ to worry about.
      Other commodities may run scarce before long though.

        Yeah, I also read just paints. But now it’s “gouache”, so I guess that’s paint? If I hadn’t read paints before, I’d now have to look that up in a dictionary. 😛
        Just grind up your own pigments Nina, you’re in nature, there must be something. And you have a chicken, so you can use egg yolk to bind the pigment. I think. I mean, I’m no artist, I know very little about it.

    @NotImportant I didn’t realize you were a boat person…not literally of course. Once I start running around this Summer I’ll see if I can get you some pictures of the local species. I have one of a rotten hulk, but I’m sure there are some still floating examples around. It will give some purpose to my waundering and I just realized I don’t have any good examples in my library.

      I love harbors and construction sites! I occasionally baffle people by admiring a particularly cute fishing boat or a digger. I dream of cranes swinging to classical music.

      I remember, especially since I my mind jumped to…well, a different kind of meatball at the time. 😀
