Something awesome

Robert is not in the mood for hide-and-seek, unfortunately for Sofia.

Only one more week and I’ll be going back to Poland. This was an exhausting trip, I seriously look forward to just staying at home and not moving my legs for a moment. We ran around the place like crazy and, as you can probably imagine, there is plenty of space to run about here in Tokyo. But being fed up with sightseeing only means it was a fulfilling trip~!

I started reading the Reckoners series (I’m in the exact middle of the second book) since I realized that Sanderson also wrote something in the first person narrative. The first book was very enjoyable, I have to say. Full of action and Hollywoodish silliness but also refreshing with its plots’ resolutions. I don’t like the romance plot (which is there, since it’s meant to be a young adult series), but I rarely do, so he’s probably not to blame. Steelheart (the first book) was a quick and enjoyable read, especially if you like supervillains.

See you next week!

Hah! I wonder if I might react like that. Also, any questions I may have said have said in the last few months have likely been forgotten as I got busy. Sorry for not checking to see anything new more often, but life has to take priority. I think.

As always, I seem to forget SOMETHING before I post. Another day, another lost memory. Anyway, I won’t be able to be on this site as much, so if I ever ask something, feel free to ignore it, as I may or may not be able to check in, well, ever I guess.

Hahaha, that ending. Just great.. Hey, I’ve actually been getting into drawing myself, and am wondering.. What software do you use to draw? Not sure if you said it before, what with how many comments there are, so didn’t want to spend the time looking for it when it might not even exist, ya know?

Anyways, just wondering about the software, and if it’s free. (Seriously, currently using MS paint, and stuff takes ages to get anywhere)

Well, I use Photoshop and Paintstorm Studio (only for lineart as for now), neither is free. I know Krita is free, you might want to try it out.

I see.. Thank you for replying! And keep up the great work! Seriously, in terms of detail and skill, your webcomic is definitely the best I seen so far. The attention to detail is incredible.

Right? Especially handy when demons are running about, killing your friends.

Eh, once the extraordinary becomes everyday business, even the most exciting job in the world will become boring eventually.

A very good example is the (German) parody to Matrix called ‘Matrix XP’ (there’s an English version too, though the jokes aren’t as good).

How was that: ‘When you have conquered all your adversaries and the laws of nature are answering to you alone, your life is…boring.”

You should look it up, it’s plain out hilarious, though the ‘waffles’ joke is sadly lost to translation.
(In German, the word for ‘Weapons’ is ‘Waffen’…I’ll leave the rest to you. :P)

Either way, back to the page…yup, that’s Sophie alright.
        ‘Where’d she go?’
‘Eh, got eaten by a tent.’

        😀

But…how can you even barricade yourself…in a tent?
The power of embarrassment I guess.

Also, gotta love that shirt and Laura’s expression, alright. 😀

Though I do wonder what Ada wants to show to Rob…probably her awesome toothpaste magic for that extra shine in your mouth. 😀

Heh, sorry Ada, but you’re all figured out. 😛

Regarding the joke on Waffen/Waffeln, I think a lot of English speakers must at least be somewhat familiar with the (Third Reich) Luftwaffe?… One of the most brilliant gags in Grrl Power IMHO is the Nazi-styled food place called “Luftwaffles” 🙂

(PS. Regarding brilliant gags, I love “eaten by a tent” 🙂 )

I’ve never seen *shrugs* in cartoon panel form before but that captures it pretty well! fairly inappropriate shirt for someone living in the midst of demon attacks. There’s a lot of things you could complain about but I suspect being bored is rarely one of the. Gored maybe, but rarely bored.

I like the bit of relationship here. It gives the whole crush but not official crush a bit more depth than usual.

Also Sophia is so cute here! Just so huggable! Can I have one?

PS I agree, that shirt does need to exist. I might have to make one.

Laura is adorable here and her shirt is great. I’m happy that Ada has decided to try talking with her best friend. Favorite part of this page is the detail on Ada’s hair. So pretty!

The last panel ist just hilarious – love Lauras expression 🙂
Also something i like is Adas hairstyle the last few “Now”-pages.

And also barricading in a tent isnt that hard if you look what some people have in them: you just build your own fort inside one with all that stuff 😀

Hi! i was wondering what platform you use to post your comics. Is it Tumblr, or do you make your own website? I’m planning on making my own comic and i need some advice

That’s WordPress on my own server and domain. You might want to consider Tapastic. And good luck with your project! 🙂

I see you decided to make your Patreon a public thing after all.
And you even got quite a spender for a backer already. ($49/Month, that’s quite amazing).

    Congratulations on this step. 🙂
I hope you’ll make enough to keep the comic running until it comes to a conclusion in…I don’t know, 20 years? 😉

Yeah, he got me to muster up my courage and make it public 😀 So for all those who asked me about a way to support the comic financially – now it’s possible.

Before I actually read this page. Quick follow-up on the discussion about Ada’s hair colour two pages earlier: I like this shade better than the very red one.

    • NotImportant Reply

Aww bummer, everyone likes orange better when I love the red so much!

      • Klorix Camp dweller Reply

Sorry! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe it’s the contrast with her eyes or something, but I don’t say I dislike it
And you know what: it’s your comic!
Maybe you can find some middle ground. I won’t mind a little more red. I even convinced my girlfriend to try dying her hair a few years ago.
