Hostility

Please note how Rob casually pushed Ada aside to be the first one to talk to the new girl. Outrageous.

I regret not finding the time to reply to all your comments from last week. Hopefully, I can do that tomorrow… Honestly, I must be bad with time management lately or something. Maybe it’s the spring… I’m struggling to find the time for everything I want or need to do. Replay, the Historia project, work, social life, writing, learning Japanese, doing taxes, dental check-ups, haircuts, cleaning, cooking, damn it, the list just doesn’t want to end.

I need to thank you for your kind words last week. Thank you for commenting and encouraging me. You have no idea how much it helps me to every day decide to continue this story instead of just dropping it and suddenly freeing a dozen hours I spend on Replay every week. I think any sane person would wonder if it’s worth it. But if you still enjoy it – it is.

Thank you for reading Replay!

What did someone (The person knows who he/she is ^^) just a short while told me:
“Never give up and believe in the people who believe in you and your work! Never lose the fun doing what you do. And If you need a break, take it.”

You have so many great people loving your work, and supporting you. They would go through hell and back for you, never forget that 😉
But the important part is: If you feel like you cant continue, be it because your life has taken another turn, or you really lost the fun telling your story, be honest with your followers. I don’t think there will be someone out there who would be mad with you.

I will now go back into lurker mode.

There’s no need to go back to the lurker mode haha ;D
Thanks! I really appreciate the moral support! It’s sometimes hard to continue because there are so many other things I want to try and drawing this comic really takes a lot of time. But at the end of the day, I want to continue this story and I’m just unable to forsake the color for faster pages~

I at least am very happy that you’re doing full color pages. So pretty!

I’m absolutely impressed at how many things you are doing!
To me it looks like you are pretty good at time management, whereas I am total crap at it. I have no feeling for how long anything will take to be accomplished and I am a master procrastinator on top of that. Currently, apart from going to work, I’m really happy if I get around to doing my laundry once a week…

    • JW Reply

I’ve heard that master procrastinators actually get a lot done, because they procrastinate at doing one thing by doing something else.

      • antrik Reply

There are different types of procrastinators. I read a very interesting article about it once — though I’m too lazy too try finding it again 😛

No chickens were harmed during the production of this webcomic

Ah, “not during”, eh. So before or after, isn’t that right.

*Robert eyes the open can of beans, grabs the book, and quietly shoos Ada back outside the barrier.
‘Remember those cans you had stocked as a joke ration that you said were Never to be opened?’
Ada *eyes widen: ‘You don’t mean…’
    Robert: ‘Yep. Poor soul.’
*They walk off to the backdrop of the contained cabin explosion.

Because, of course, everyone yelling at each other is so conducive to a nice, calm meeting of the minds, right? ;-p

Beautifully done, as always. Even the bewildered and distraught chicken!

new crazy lady brandishing a knife, first words said… Rob: cool! Ada: yer upsetting the chicken! >:( Julia: WHO SENT YOU

    • antrik Reply

Crazy? That’s harsh. Let’s call her… Distraught maybe? Traumatised? Not sure what the right word is…

To be fair, she’s hostile and brandishing a knife; Rob has the sword, while Ada is currently armed with a chicken.

    • NotImportant Reply

That was just my poor attempt at being sarcastic (which obviously doesn’t work when you can’t hear my tone).
And hey, chicken is a proper weapon!

      • antrik Reply

I think the sarcasm worked fine… And I don’t get the impression the original poster took it too literally, either?

    • antrik Reply

Going by the casual way he holds the sword and advances toward Julia, and his general deportment, I think Robert sees her more as a curiosity than an actual threat… Pushing aside Ada might be more about calming Julia (since Ada is being kinda confrontational) than about protecting Ada.

How peculiar, that they don’t seem to know that new lady, even though the lady seems to know their boss all too well.

Of course there’s a chance, that Julia just worked in a different department, and that their paths never crossed, but still, that she immediately assumed that Adam sent them is peculiar.

At the very least, it suggests a common history with him.

Now…I understand that Robert and Ada are aware that Adam is at fault for the current state of affairs, however I still do not understand HOW they know it.
I mean, did Adam start a press conference, holding an ominous box and declared: ‘The world as we know it, ends today!’ or something?

Upon opening the box, demons appeared and made mincemeat out of everyone but Adam…while the world was watching…that would explain, how everyone seems to know, whom to blame.

Either way, as I keep telling you: Do not overexert yourself.
Remember, only you can tell this story.
If you fall from overexertion, nobody will be able to finish it.

And that by itself would be a crying shame already. 🙂

And regarding ‘sanity’…I have long since come to the conclusion, that anyone who pursues an art form (or even two) actively and seriously, cannot, by common standards, be completely sane.

I mean, just look at the craploads of time and effort we pour into our works, without ever expecting anything but maybe a ‘Good job’ in return, if even just that much.
In this capitalistic world of ours, we must be completely bonkers. 🙂

That said, and while I am repeating the choir here, I still wish to say it myself: You are doing a splendid job thus far and I can hardly wait to see how this tale you are telling will unravel the many little threads you are spinning.

And while I say ‘hardly’, I still can wait…if you need the time, I will be the last to tell you that you ‘have to’ continue.
Because if you need to force yourself, fun tends to go straight out of the window.
After all, there is only one thing a hobby needs to be.
    And that is ‘fun’. 🙂

    • NotImportant Reply

Haha thanks for those words! Don’t worry, it’s still fun. I think the most fun is reading all those comments with a nasty smirk plastered to my face because I know what’s going to happen next! Mwahahaha! Yes, that’s the best feeling.

Not going to answer your questions regarding Adam but I can disclose that we will see how the initial attack happened at the beginning of the next chapter and Julia will obviously need to explain some things before we can do any kind of progress.

    • antrik Reply

Since when is acting in a capitalistic fashion the definition of sanity?…

(Among economists, it is the definition of rationality — but that’s a different matter…)

How does that ancient proverb go?
“If you’re not crazy when you start making a webcomic…”

Such a cliffhanger! Too bad I can’t upgrade my patreon tier to already view the next page. Well technically I could, but I also need to save a bit more. I guess I’ll just have to wait like everybody else 🙂

Don’t tear yourself up too much about your productivity, I only managed to tear myself away from my screen for a short while to get groceries and take a walk this weekend. Prioritizing helps sometimes though, I didn’t make any lists this weekend and so I did next to nothing 😀

I think at this point I’m just unable to live in any other way. For many years now I’ve been living on a tight schedule! But yeah, I should learn how to let go of it from time to time, unwind properly…

    • antrik Reply

You can tear yourself away from the screen to take a walk? You are more of a strong-willed person than I am… 😉

No chicken’s were harmed… yet. I mean, come on, we all know she plans to eat it at some point! ^_^

I love you and your work. I don’t have money of my own to spend, but I’m rooting for you! 🙂

    • NotImportant Reply

It’s okay! I’ve got a great job so money is not an issue! Thank you for letting me know you like the comic, that’s very motivating for me!

Ada holding that chicken is like the fox guarding the hen house…
