Fourth pentacle of the Moon

Time to make some magic! I hope you’ll enjoy the clumsy ritual and Ada’s cute little notes. The new pentacle has already been added to the Spells section so feel free to check the details! It’s a very simple spell but life’s hard enough for them already, wouldn’t you agree..?

I hope you’re enjoying the holidays! Have fun, eat lots and give some warmth to others! And check out the gallery and the fanart section if you missed the Christmas illustration or lovely drawing of Robert from KW!

See you next year~!

Oh? Am I the first commenter? And on Christmas night? Huh, much be my luck day. I read your this when you first started and was so confused, so I stopped reading it. But when searching my internet on my lonly Christmas night, and lo and behold! I see an ad to your site. Bored and already caught up on my other sites I deside to click on it. And I read. And read. And read. Untill now. At 11:15 as I write this, I finished. It’s still as confusing as ever, but I think I’ll be tunning in every Monday to see what’s new. Untill I get a notification or next Monday, Marry Christmas and a good night to all.

I wonder what would happen if she accidentally drew that kitten in her notes in the actual magic circle.
Would it give everyone animal ears? .. Oh, wait ..

I realy love that you have so much lore and so many details in your story 🙂

There are realy only a few who give side informations or a deeper view into the lore of theire stories. I love reading such things because it means the story has so much that keepss the readers interessted even if they dont know it yet. I also like how the drawing in hear book is doodled, that just gives it more personality 🙂

Glad you like it! And without all the background info I probably wouldn’t be interested in this story either and wouldn’t want to spend so many hours every week working on the new pages and preparing the next chapter haha, it needs to keep me interested as well ;D

That’s what I love about most of the comics I love best. That you can just tell they’re made with love.

the pages where they just move a little bit are the worst yet i love it. this page has a fluid motion to reading it. btw i ada looks way to young like 16 i was really creeped out when everyone was shipping them. then i looked at the character page.

Haha she doesn’t look her age ;D I’ve got a friend who is almost 30 and people always take her for a teenager, this really happens haha~!
And thanks! Glad you like the page!

Yeah, my mom is the same way. We went to the gym together once, and someone asked us if we were siblings.

I don’t think this is entirely true.

It is true that some people have certain features misleading most others into thinking they are much younger; but as far as I can tell, there are generally other features giving them away. Sometimes I find myself able to see through the misleading features better than others. (Though I wouldn’t say I’m able to estimate ages better than others in general.) Other times, they look kinda incongruous, so that it’s hard to peg them at any specific age at all… But I don’t remember any situation where I estimated someone at a particular age, and then learned them to be significantly older.

In comics, it’s kinda arbitrary, of course. (And tends to vary from one shot to the next…) By the looks, I certainly wouldn’t peg Ada at 26; but neither at 16. Maybe we could compromise on 21? 😉

Spell circle, yay! I look forwards to seeing peoples’ reactions to Ada’s spellcasting, especially Ada herself.

      • Dæmon Reply

I’m curious how she’d react to being dragged away by men dressed in all black, with the word SWAT on their chest. Or maybe I should be worried about Rob’s reaction.

Side note, did Rob’s name come from Rob Zombie?

        • JW Reply

I don’t know where Rob’s name came from, but eat my hat (after buying one) if it came from “Rob Zombie”.

In the worst case, I’m sure they sell edible hats somewhere. But I’m betting I don’t need to embarrass myself inquiring about that at the hat-shops around town.

Hmm, I wonder if there’s a business idea in that. On the one hand, I’m thinking chocolate, but chocolate is a bit brittle to make for a good hat. Something bready would probably be a better material. But then again, it has such a short shelf-life you’d have to eat your hat the day you buy it. That doesn’t give much opportunity for running around disputing claims and betting to eat your hat.

Err, what were we talking about again?

          • JW

Whoop’s edited out the “I’ll” in “I’ll eat my hat” there.

This message brought to you by “It’s too effin’ late to post coherently, I’m going to sleep” TM.

          • NotImportant

We’d need to ask Robert’s mom. But who knows, maybe she’s a Rob Zombie fan?

          • Dæmon

You could use jerky, or old western style leather. Those were actually an emergency food source AND a set of cool clothes for trappers in the West during the days where the Buffalo roamed free.

          • Deamon

Wait, a second… NI, you made this comic, and the character of Rob. Doesn’t that make you his mother?

          • Dæmon

Wait, if you made this comic, and all of these characters are yours (and technically you children as well), does any reproduction between characters count as incest?

          • Doom

From my perspective NotImportant is not their mother. She is their beautiful and terrible goddess, scripting the lives of her creations for her amusement.

Poor Ada. Being the plaything of a goddess, even a wise and merciful goddess, tends to result in a difficult life. Often short, too.

          • JW

Only if they’re related by blood. (And I don’t mean covered in blood from the same demon)

Yeah, I agree. Though, I don’t know what NI looks like, and she doesn’t seem that terrible :P, but yeah.

But totally worth it ❤ 😉

            Rob Zombie

Y’know, I will be really disappointed when the Zombie Apocalypse comes around, and then it turns out it was just named that because Rob Zombie started it. Actually, mostly I’ll be really disappointed about the apocalypse, but the name thing will be a close second.. no wait, third.. err.. tenth.. erm.. low seventies maybe.

          • NotImportant

They are all my children but they are not (not all of them, at least) blood related, just like JW said~

And I’d say I’m quite terrible. I know how to pretend, though. So that people don’t notice. ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

          • Dæmon

Okay… I’m at a loose for words. I mean, if they’re all you children, wouldn’t you know where Rob’s name comes from, or are you not one of those fancy “omnipotent” ones?

Also, does no one else think clothes made of jerky might look pretty cool?

          • JW

I’m at a loose for words. I mean, if they’re all you children, wouldn’t you know where Rob’s name comes from,

Maybe the genesis of his name was not memorable enough to go down in history. I mean, I can’t remember where my every thought came from. That would be scary. It’s bad enough having some of them. 😛
Or maybe it was like “He needs a name… Robert’s a name… I’ll call him Robert”, without any further reason, or any association with other people called Robert.

More meta, according to “behind the name” Robert comes from “.. the Germanic name Hrodebert meaning “bright fame”, derived from the Germanic elements hrod “fame” and beraht “bright”. The Normans introduced this name to Britain, where it replaced the Old English cognate Hreodbeorht.”

Likewise, Ada comes Adelaide which comes from “the French form of the Germanic name Adalheidis, which was composed of the elements adal “noble” and heid “kind, sort, type”. It was borne in the 10th century by Saint Adelaide, the wife of the Holy Roman Emperor Otto the Great. The name became common in Britain in the 19th century due to the popularity of the German-born wife of King William IV, for whom the city of Adelaide in Australia was named in 1836.”

Funny, if I where to pin the meaning of the name on the person, I think I’d switch it 😛

or are you not one of those fancy “omnipotent” ones?

I think you mean “omniscient” (i.e. know everything, instead of able to do anything)
And even if she were, that doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll share her bounty of knowledge with us. (She’s definitely hoarding all the future knowledge… and a lot of the past.)

Also, does no one else think clothes made of jerky might look pretty cool?

Lady Gaga, maybe. I mean, leave her out in the sun in her meat-dress, and it’ll turn to jerky eventually.

Ok, I looked it up, and apparently it is pretty much jerky now, all dried out. And hard. Which is probably a reason why clothes made of jerky is a bad, or at least uncomfortable, idea. Might work as armor, though; literal meat-shield!

          • NotImportant

            Your discussions are hilarious~ 😀

I always check the meaning of a name I plan to use in the story, but it doesn’t mean that the name itself says a lot about the character (that would be a huge spoiler and a silly thing to do). But I do wonder how my characters feel about their names. Ada and Rob probably don’t care all that much (and I agree that they could switch lol) but I imagine that Sofia probably agonized over it on occasion.

          • JW

but I imagine that Sofia probably agonized over it on occasion.

I get the feeling Sofia could agonize over anything. She probably agonizes over whether to put milk in her coffee.

I always check the meaning of a name I plan to use in the story, but it doesn’t mean that the name itself says a lot about the character (that would be a huge spoiler and a silly thing to do).

Hmm, yes. I’ve read stories like that. People with evil sounding names being evil, people with mysterious sounding names being mysterious; makes you cringe.

          • NotImportant

            I wonder if ‘Stefen’ is mysterious enough…. (‘ ⚆ _ ⚆ )

          • JW

Well, if it’s not mysterious enough, you could give him an ominous lastname. Like, he could be Stefen Rius. And then people can refer to him is Mr. Rius, and it’ll all be clear enough. And you might wonder, why Rius, and not Ius, and that’s because this way, you can later dramatically reveal an until then unknown daughter called Misty, Misty Rius. dun-dun-dun.

Also, it’s apparently a real last name: Rius ranks # 111740 in terms of the most common surnames in America for 2000.
(Levick ranks # 34503, but no Levicky in that data, apparently. Too bad we don’t just have world-wide census data. Or last-names for more of the cast. :p )

          • Dæmon

Actually, Stefan kind of fits. I would have imagined it as an office worker or a marketer, but if he was a scientist, than that would make sense too. Also, for some reason, when I went back to read the comic, he had a Texas twang to his voice in my head. Like Dr. Franken Stien from Soul Eater, but Texan.

      • antrik Reply

@JW AFAIK some sort of starch is the material of choice for edible clothing?

And I frankly have no idea why I think this is the case. Maybe I just made it up, since it seems plausible.

(Also, I haven’t heard of edible hats yet… But I distinctly remember some classmates in high school liked the idea of edible underwear — so I assume that’s actually a thing…)

        • NotImportant Reply

Apparently edible underwear is a thing, but also it’s merely “edible” and very far from being tasty. Or so I’ve heard.
