Being realistic

Sorry guys, I’ll be brief since I want to submit my master thesis this week and I’m behind the schedule. It takes a while to put everything together, make sure there are no bugs anywhere, win 1673 battles with Latex…. some of you probably know how it’s like.

Anyway, enjoy this week’s page and feel free to try and guess whose voice she recognized!

    Kyah! Laura-chan, you’re so mature >////<
Sofia's cute, too. But I'm definitely melting for Laura *////*
Good luck with your thesis! You rock!

Best of luck on your Thesis! And I feel you on LaTeX. It can be finicky sometimes.

Aside from that, I starting to think that we’ll see the Sofia’s face from the vote incentive (or a close approximation to it) appear in the comic next week (or the week after).

Clarification: “feel you” should have been “feel for you” or some similar expression of empathy. I really should be a bit more careful about using idioms online.

I know what you mean and that’s all that matters haha, thanks! And you guesses right, you’ll see Sofia’s cheerful expression next week!

Actually, from my experience, either way us acceptable. I’ve heard and used both, and at least in my area of America, both are often used by youth of around my age.

Yup, sure sounds like a prince in dirty socks right there. I mean, who else could she recognize and be so rattled about it?
But then again, it could also be someone from her past, one of those friends she had been out with but got separated from, though I’m definitely thinking she heard Rob. At least that would make the most sense with the current information.
Really cute flicking ears effect. 🙂

Laura and Kasper are right, of course. It doesn’t help to tell yourself that ‘everything’s going to be okay’.
In this context, I’d like to quote something I intend to use in my own book soon: Si vis pacem para bellum.
It’s always better to be prepared for the worst instead of just hoping for the best, even if that seems like a pessimistic outlook on life.

That reminds me of another ‘saying’ which kinda seems to fit with the topic:
Optimists believe, that we live in the best of all possible worlds. (It can’t get any better)
Pessimists fear, that the aforementioned is true. (It can only get worse)

I’m curious to see what’s about to happen next. Nice work on the art, as always and good luck with your master thesis.
I for one am rooting for your success. 🙂

If you want to die from stress, sure.
The worst rarely happens (and when it does it’s rarely what people expected). In Laura and co’s case, the “worst” is actually likely (though certainly not “worst” by any stretch of my imagination), so it makes sense to accept and prepare for it. But me, I’m not gonna prep for a demon invasion; or the zombie apocalypse for that matter.

Thanks Refugnic, hopefully I’ll be done with it within a month or so. Something to really look forward to haha…
And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t point that out – and are you sure she heard her prince’s voice when he saved her? Because I’m pretty sure she didn’t 😛

Is this one of those, “nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more, say no more” moments?

      • Refugnic Reply

Meh, my memory is failing me again as it seems. You are right, neither Rob nor Ada said anything when encountering Sofia…well, in that case, that recognition can pretty much only stem from someone she’s known from before this mess and is likely from those friends she mentioned earlier.

Judging from the people we know, Filip and Nina are most likely these friends. At least the probability is higher than it is for example for Stefen. 🙂

Don’t worry buddy, there were people who forgot that it was Sofia in the rescue scene on the beginning of the chapter haha~ Such is the fate of a page-per-week comic I suppose. Time flies!

          • Dæmon

And time can stop, slow down, and go alll wibbly-wobbly on us. Hopefully, it doesn’t also happen to be a big ball, because I think then we run into copyright issues. Plus, who knows what magic can do to time.

But about magic, is there a way to draw it inside yourself, for example, could you draw a magic circle on yourself and gather mana or whatever the magical energy is called?

I’m new to this comic, and after binge-reading it (Twice) I feel like I’m missing something. Is this a sequel comic to something, or am I just crazy?

    • NotImportant Reply

I’m afraid it’s the later haha. Sorry, it might be a tad complicated, it’s jut a beginning so it can’t be helped, especially when you land in the middle of the action.
But what’s bothering you? I’d love to know, maybe I could fix some things to make everything easier to grasp. Let me know and thanks for reading!

I just find it strange that we start with the main characters attacking an important character, yet, we don’t get any more explanation as to what he did more than: He helped the demons. I also find it strange that there were giant demons and that nobody (No common people) knew about them. The other thing that makes me thing that this is strange was the notes on a few pages ago (In exchange for shoes) it says “I bet most of you recognize part of this page ๏◡๏.” Though, I am crazy 😛

All that aside, it’s a great comic with an interesting story-line. I can’t wait to read more.

The note about recognizing parts of pages is from vote incentives. If you vote on TWC you’ll get previews of (parts of) panels that’ll be in the comic later.

As for the way the story is built up; we’re dropped in the middle of an ongoing apocalypse almost as clueless as the people it’s happening to. So it’s not just you, we’re all crazy 😉

          • NotImportant

I hope the level of crazy is acceptable, or better – enjoyable~

        • NotImportant Reply

About recognizing the page – I post some panels earlier as a vote incentive and Ada holding the shoe was very popular haha 😀
It’s not like common people didn’t see the giant demons, it’s just that there are not many who did and survived.
And Adam (the one they kick around at the beginning) is a dark figure in the shadow, shrouded by mystery, for the purpose ;P There will be a bit more about him in the first chapter though. First chapter is kind of introductory so it might be a bit confusing, especially since it’s my first webcomic and I’m still inexperienced hah xD Glad you can enjoy it anyway!
